I carry quite a bit of different cords with USB attachments. I had to look up some of the reviews here on Amazon to see if I was doing something wrong, as it would not turn on or cool for a while. I finally had to order different USB A to USB connectors to get it to work with my Macbook. Unfortunately, I have to buy extra pieces, but I am happy it isn't malfunctioning. It is keeping my Macbook pretty cool as compared to using it without a cooling pad. Without a cooling pad, it would be heating up quite a bit by now. I like the different levels of elevation it provides. The side holder for my phone is pretty sturdy too.

I didn’t really purchase this for the lights, but I wanted to say that the fans on mine don’t produce light. The sides have a graduation of colors that where the modes can be changed from steady to blinking, and at least one more option I don’t recall off the top of my head. I was interested in more of the fan placement and coverage. I used this item for about two hours of regular internet surfing, not even gaming. The part of my msi laptop I was concerned about near the hinge side did heat up again more than I think it should. I purchased a side vent fan I will set up and try next to see if that works any better, as I wasn’t too impressed with this unit for my case. I suspect my laptop has a more serious issue which is causing it to heat. All I know is I fell asleep at my desk for a couple hours, and when I woke up, the computer screen was blacked out but the laptop was still on. It was very hot to the touch so I will need to troubleshoot. I suspect it might be battery related. The cooler got the lower third of my laptop cold. As far as noise, I wasn’t bothered by it. With the tv on, I didn’t even notice any noise. I had to lift my laptop just to see if it was moving air, and it was.

Bought for son’s gaming laptop. No complaints from him.
