Ted Hughes (Poet to Poet)

Fine collection of Hughes' verse
The compact hardback Faber at 80 series are so well presented and are fine as introductions or grab & go collections. There are one or two of my favourites which didn't make Simon Armitage's cut but overall it's a fine selection.Great artwork and all printed on quality paper.

Nice selection, poor quality paper and print
A nice selection of Hughes' poetry - good range and well chosen. It would be a good book for an introduction to his work. The only thing I didn't like is that the paper and print are poor quality. I like poetry books to have thicker, whiter paper than a novel, as they are read over and over and with more focus and lingering on each word, so need to be very clear to see. Had I looked at this in a high street bookseller I wouldn't have bought it for this reason as it makes it harder to focus when the print is a little fuzzy and also shows through from the other side of the page.

Nice small collection
Good collection of Hughes poetry. Large margins, so if being used for uni or college lots of room for notes!

Know Ted Huges
As stated, i am totally immersed in his words, biased for him. There has been a lot of second hand information about him, but he deserved to be seen as his own man, very human, but capable of elevating you to heights if you allow him to take you by the hand and show you how he visualizes his world.
