Spectacular
This is a review of the expanded and updated edition that was just released. This book is amazing. Photos are beautiful. These watches are both beautiful works of art and feats of design/engineering, and this book does a fine job of allowing a watch enthusiast like me (who will likely never own one) to appreciate them in all their glory.

Amazing
I received this book today and I'm truly amazed, the size, paper, presentation and pictures are absolutely stunning. It reviews all the watches that should make that list, even though I missed the holy grail, the Patek Henry Graves, maybe that's because it only covers wristwatches and not pocket, anyway, the feeling about the book is awesome, the only thing that I would change is the title, "the most expensive watches" doesn't bring justice to this amazing pieces, they are much more than their price, they are amazing in every way, look, technic, passion, tradition and craftsmanship, so it should be called "the world most amazing watches".

Get a copy and give it to your favorite watch lover - yourself of course
This book is nearly a work of art itself while covering those small mechanical pieces of art we call high-end watches. The photography is gorgeous and makes the beauty of the timepieces covered something that anyone can appreciate. But this book is really more for the true watch lover. It covers the range of luxury watches from the simply "iced-out" to the quirky to the highly complicated to the classical and sought after vintage such as Albert Einstein's watch. While I was familiar with the vast majority of the brands presented, there are always new gems to be discovered. And this book aids in that never ending quest for more watch knowledge. I've had the privilege of strapping on (all too briefly) 3 of the covered watches at BaselWorld, so I know the guilty pleasure of getting up close and personal with some of these exceptional watches. For most people (myself included), a book such as this is about the only way to experience these small works of art.I found a couple of small textual errors, but for these few flaws, the book is wonderfully written and explains the history of the covered watches and why they are of interest (not just why they cost so much). In fact, outside of the prices being obviously listed, this book is not about what the watches cost, but rather why these timepieces are so fascinating and not because of the house-like prices they command.I'm trying to pace myself and only read a half dozen pages a day so I can savor this book for as long as possible before sharing it with my other watch idiot savant friends! In summary, this is an art book for the coffee table but one that watch lovers won't leave on a coffee table. Not inexpensive, but what of value ever is?

Great primer for high end timepieces ....
A very interesting book, some of these watches I have never seen in the literature, so some are probably unique pieces. But the pictures are great and very detailed. If you like complicated watches this is a good addition to a library. The cardboard dust cover is one of the sturdiest I have ever seen. All in all a very good book for haute horology pieces.

Impressive book!!!
I ordered this book for my husband for Christmas. It is very well made, very heavy, with lots of great information. This book makes a great gift for the watch collector in your life. It’s definitely worth the price. Highly recommend!
