This microplane was a gift for our son-in-law who enjoys cooking. He has been happy with the grater and even asked for another so if/when his gets dull, he will have one waiting to be used. Good quality item that works well.

The Microplane Professional grater has turned what used to be a knuckle-threatening chore into something I actively look forward to. Suddenly every pasta, salad, and dessert in my kitchen is getting a little chef’s-kiss finish. For context, I previously owned a rotary grater that felt like it was powered by spite and poor engineering. It squeaked, it jammed, and it made me question my life choices. This Microplane, on the other hand, is sharp, precise, and shockingly pleasant to use. It feels sturdy without being bulky and cleans up quickly, which means I actually reach for it instead of negotiating with myself. Excellent grater. Sharp , grates cleanly, easy to clean

I have used Microplane graters for several years now and they have served their purpose well. I use them primarily to grate fresh ginger in order to brew ginger tea and for cooking. What I like most it that the microplane grater does not cut your fingers even when you get close to the surface. Cleanup is very easy by just rinsing it under the tap while running your fingers on the underside of the grater. The product is well made and can be tossed into the dishwasher for a deep clean once in a while.

This is sharp as shadoodles on the front and back edges, and sliced my finger the first time I used it. My OXO microplane broke on the plastic edge so I got this because it's all metal. It seems to work as expected, and very sharp. I removed a star because it should have dulled edges or have a protective coating or something on the parts that aren't intended for cutting. I wonder if I could use it as a mandoline? Wear a cutting glove or risk losing some flesh.

Excellent quality. "Professional quality" applies to the handle/mounting system for the grate. It's all metal and more substantial than the ones using a nylon or plastic handle.

I waited awhile to review wanting to work with it awhile on different foods. Yes, definitely 5 stars. It’s sharp, easy to use and to clean. I especially like the way I can lay it down to use.
