Voices in the Air: Poems for Listeners Hardcover – Deckle Edge, February 13, 2018

Normally, Nye is one of my favorite poets, but the effort of praising older poets and well-known people had the feel of an "assignment" suggested by a publisher and carried out rather mechanically. However, section 4 of the book departed from that topic and resumed Nye's thoughtful, inventive voice very enjoyably.

I like her accessibility and her vivid images and words or phrases that, nevertheless, require me to stop and ponder.

I truly love this poet. I first discovered her via the On Being podcast.Her works are such beauty. She provides the needed, MUCH needed voice to the Palestianian culture and the realistic saily struggles to simply be human-to fing safety, to experience stability-to know and to BE KNOWN.

I order Amazon for a public school district. This must be okay to recommend b/c I didn't hear any complaints (and believe me I would have.)

I am so happy with this purchase. It is a marvelous read and one I'll be keeping close for awhile.
