Poor quality book, possibly the publisher's fault, not necessarily the authors
While both authors are well respected on this topic, the book leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the spine has an extra "RY" on it, making it look like the title of the book is "Item Response Theory ry..." The typos continue inside the book. So many that if I wasn't an expert already, I'd have trouble following. Thankfully, I was just looking for a more concise overview, but I'm not sure this book can be trusted. It's a shame because the organization and goal of the book are both good, but this needs to be copy edited again, and updated and corrected.

Surprisingly awesome stats book
This book is excellent. Well written, very accessible, and at some points, kind of fun to read (I just declared my nerd status. Mic dropped....and picked back up).I think this is an excellent resource for learning more about item response theory and I would honestly buy it rather than rent it. You'll probably want to read it again if you're doing anything in the vein of IRT or scale analyses.

This is really a great book for people learning about IRT
This is really a great book for people learning about IRT. It is clear and easy to understand. I'm currently taking a class and this has become one of my go to books when I don't feel I understand something from the lecture.

Really good book for those learning IRT
Really good book for those learning IRT. It is easy to follow and there are good references and examples used throughout the book. I would definitely recommend this as a companion to other, more technical, IRT books.

hard to understand writing
Could they have written this book in a more sophisticated and complex language? One of those instances that you can totally judge a book by its cover.

A psychometrics must-read
It's a must-read for any psychometrician who wants to approach the topic of IRT with a deeper understanding than the one typically provided by the introductory textbooks on psychological measurement.

Item Response Theory
