Get these for your brown sugar canister
Love these pottery discs for keeping my brown sugar fresh! I put them in my adult daughter's stockings too as a fun stocking stuffer for their kitchens. What a great idea!

Easy and effective
These disks work in keeping that clumpy brown sugar soft and ready to use. Perfectly protectively wrapped for shipment and cut designs to boot! Kept two and gifted two. Very pleased.

Adorable, but they don't keep brown sugar soft for ever!
They are the cutest things, and I like them. They kept my huge bin of brown sugar soft for 3 months, but then when I didn't use it for several weeks, the sugar caked up! So sad. I had to resort to slices of apple. But they did fine for quite a while, and if I wasn't trying to keep so much sugar for such a long period, I think they would work great! I have my sugar in an OXO sealable bin, with 4 of these scattered through layers of the sugar. It only caked near the bottom of a 3 lb. stash. So perhaps I asked too much!

Works great!!
They really did soften some semi-hard brown sugar and revived some older raisins. I’ve put them in other kinds of dried fruits as well to keep them moist. I was so happy to find these made in America terracotta discs. Didn’t mind paying a little more for them since they are being used in food and I’m pretty picky about that. I also like supporting USA businesses. I purchased the pack of 10 manufacturer “seconds”. I saw only a few minor imperfections but overall I think the quality is excellent and I’m very satisfied with this product. I highly recommend them.

Great!
Just as good as their first quality which I also bought. They work perfectly. I used them on some VERY hard brown sugar and it softened it up nicely. I chose this company as they are a small business that manufacture in the USA.

Kitchen necessity to preserve brown sugar, dried fruit & popcorn
Decades ago, these clay discs were called "brown sugar bears" (yes, cast in bear shape). Very odd that one of the default rating choices was "flavor" as they are never intended to be eaten. I've used them many years to keep moisture in brown sugar and other items. One does have to moisten the disc before using it by placing the disc in a clean container that is slightly larger than the diameter of the disc (the disc will swell slightly as it absorbs water). Submerge the disc in clean water for 15 minutes. Then remove it, wipe dry and bury it in the food in the container. You will need to "re-moisten" the clay disc periodically. Just remove it from the food container, wipe off any residue, place the disc in a clean container that is slightly larger than the diameter of the disc, submerge the disc in clean water for 15 minutes. Then remove it, wipe dry and pop it back into the food. Be sure to bury a moistened disc in the bag or container of popcorn as soon as you open it. Dried-out popcorn won't pop well or at all. In my Zone 3 winter, I usually re-moisten the popcorn disc every other time I open the container. With brown sugar or sweetened dried fruit, I found that putting the whole plastic bag in a larger sealed container with a moistened disc in it keeps the disc clean as well as the sugar soft. Just remember that these do not preserve the food, only help prevent it from drying out as quickly. Also , the moistened disc must be towel-dry before putting it in food or you may encourage mold or bacterial growth.

Great product. Bought them because my wife and I had several containers and bags full of brown sugar that had gone hard, rock hard. Tried putting it in a mini food processor....no go. Then I saw this product advertised and said "why not try it". Bought this set, did as instructed, soaking them in water and patting them dry and then put them in with the brown sugar. The next morning, the sugar was as soft as if I had just purchased it. Now we've got lots of soft brown sugar!

I have used brown sugar savers for many things. The latest is my soft dry dog bones as they dry out easily if the lid is left off the jar. I just soak the brown sugar piece for about 10 min pat dry and put it in the jar to soften then.
