Good range and plug-and-play on Linux
Works on Linux and has great range in my house. Installed it in my desktop computer upstairs and it was able to go through 2 floors, past the first floor and into the basement. Far better range than the thumbnail USB dongle that I was using before. Best of all, on Kubuntu 25.10 (Linux kernel 6.17) it worked perfectly. It was a simple plug and play. 😅

works fine, no driver issues, does extend range enough to matter
Works automagically under linux (PopOS in this case), better range than the thumbnail-sized adapter I was using. Using the teeny adapter my earbuds would cut out if I went to another room w/o direct LoS. With this adapter I get a perfect connection anywhere in a 2100sf house. Still not enough range to cover the whole yard, sadly, but definitely better. I was skeptical when shopping as a *lot* of these kind of things are bogus (a big "antenna" that's not even electrically connected, just plastic, for looks to fool buyers, and a standard tiny mini-pcb adapter)...but this one delivers. I didn't take it apart, but the performance difference is very obvious. Addendum: to get the best results, I put a simple metal plate (initially just aluminum foil, but later an old gray gov-issue bookend that was literally from the Apollo program, lol) behind the antenna; that greatly increases the signal strength in front of the plate (normal to the surface of the plate..behind the plate signal is basically gone), since the pc was at one end of my desired coverage area. That's an old antenna design trick; it effectively doubles the size of the antenna but only opposite the plate. Might help someone, might not, but free to try. :) happy trails

Compact, Reliable, and Works Perfectly
The TP-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter is exactly what I needed to add Bluetooth capabilities to my desktop PC—and it does the job flawlessly. It's small and unobtrusive, and I don’t even notice it once it’s plugged in. Setup was straightforward and painless. I just inserted it into a USB port, installed the driver from the included CD (or downloaded the latest version online), and within minutes, I was pairing my headphones and phone. The connection has been solid—no dropouts or lag—even when streaming music or transferring files. I was impressed with the signal range too. I can move from one room to another and still maintain a stable connection, which is great for listening to music while walking through my house. Overall, this adapter is affordable, dependable, and very easy to use. If your PC lacks Bluetooth or you want a better connection than onboard solutions, this is a smart upgrade. Highly recommend!

Great product
I’ll update if anything changes but so far it’s a great product. Cheap, effective and so user friendly. It was plug and play so once I plugged it in it did its thing. I also just downloaded the driver but the setup was so easy. Update: I wasn’t even using the product properly it’s not plug in play but still quite simple. I never turned off my other blue tooth adapter (the bad one). I noticed this cause the Bluetooth connection seemed funky which had me worried until I figured it out. Just went to device manager and disabled the other adapter and tada the other adapter had its debut. It’s fantastic, extremely strong and stable connection. I no longer need to have a wired connection on my ps5 controllers because the connection is that stable. With the old adapter it would be so unstable that for example in game it would seem like I was drifting off to one direction (which made me think I had stick drift) but it was because the connection was so bad. Great product, recommend to anyone!

Still plug-and-play under Linux. Cannot change MAC/OUI.
Still plug-and-play under Linux. I purchased this for a project involving Bluetooth connections to a radio, but it turns out the device has a Bluetooth UUID whitelist and the manufacturer basically individually whitelists Bluetooth OUIs for use as "valid headsets". This adapter cannot change its own OUI/UUID. This means that this adapter will not work for my project, but the audio quality is still good if you don't need that.

Overall great buy and may grab another.
Working great from the other room! I was trying to find something that would get a signal to my Cricut down in the crafts room and this solved that problem for me where a regular dongle wasn't working.. This even throws sound signal out to my Wireless Sony headphones in the kitchen 60ft out through walls and random stuff. If I tried to make it I might be able to get it to not cutout right passed the kitchen. Needed something with a dedicated antenna and who better to trust than TP-Link at least there name is known. Plugged it in and it worked right away, no driver install, just windows recognizing the device and go.

It works great - total plug-and-play, at least in my case
TP-Link makes a super-fast external USB Wi-Fi adapter built into the base of a set of rabbit-ears antennas - which works great, but doesn't include Bluetooth. if you want the super-fast Wi-Fi AND Bluetooth, this could work for you. It's inexpensive, too.

Works, but not perfectly reliable
It works, but is less reliable for my VR controllers than the one built into the computer

Excelent Choice for those who wants to update their two year old PC

Home Assistant Works
Works immediately out of the box with home assistant (running on an old X86 machine). Using it to passively pick up several Switchbot temperature and humidity sensors plus several of their meter pros with CO2 monitoring. The range is excellent. One of my Switchbot Meter pros is three rooms over and still getting consistent data into Home Assistant. Only time will tell if a Home Assistant update breaks something!

Excelente receptor Bluetooth

Small Device, Big Performance Perfect for a Cord-Free Classroom Or Office Setup!
I purchased the TP-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter for PC (UB500 Plus) to cut down on cords in my classroom and relocate a desktop computer to a spot where running internet cables just wasn’t practical. This little device completely solved the problem. Setup was truly plug-and-play. Within minutes it was up and running with no complicated installation process. For something so small, it’s incredibly powerful. The connection is strong and secure, and I’ve been very impressed with both upload and download speeds. I haven’t experienced any drops or unstable network issues at all. The adjustable antenna really makes a difference for range and stability, especially in a school environment where multiple devices are connected at once. It allowed me to eliminate extra wiring and essentially turn my desktop into an oversized, powerful laptop without sacrificing performance. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable way to reduce cable clutter and gain flexibility in where you place your computer, this is an excellent solution. Highly recommend!
