CURT 18087 Secure Locking Tray-Style Trailer Hitch Bike Rack Mount, Fits 2-Inch Receiver, 4 Bicycles

We knew from day one trying to get the rack out and put together that we hated this bike rack, but needed it for a trip so thought we’d give it a try. While away, the box accidentally got thrown away so we couldn’t send it back, not that we could have gotten the million pieces back apart and repacked.The rack is extremely heavy, very big and awkward making it tough to attach, unattach, carry, and store. And all the pins and joints make the process really time consuming. By the time we are done loading the bikes we don’t even feel like going riding anymore. And after long ride, coming home to unload is exhausting. We really do hate this rack with a passion.And worst of all, we’re not even comfortable selling it to someone else so we are just out all the money.I admit, we have not reached out to Curt to discuss matter so I can’t comment on their customer service. But after trying to carry it again today and almost getting badly hurt, I plan to call them.

I like that its fairly versatile and flexible. Its not as simple to use as other brands. Others offer easier tilting mechanisms, bigger tire “cups”, and are more stylish. Although they cost significanly more than this product. In my case, a part or two were missing, and the plastic sleeve in one of the tire holding loops was broken upon arrival. I need to follow up with Curt mfg about that.

the clip to lock in the bike frame is horribly made. The spring inside it popped out whenever I take the hook out. If you are unlucky to loose the spring, the hook is unusable. The platform's movable parts are secured by metal rods and spring loaded clips. These clips are tough to remove with barehand. For today's standards, this platform should have used quick release mechanism. Overall I found the platform to be heavy, large and very clumsy.

Great bike rake. The only draw back is that it is heavy when using both pieces together. I put the first piece on and then the second so I can do it by myself. Takes a little time, but it's worth it. Very sturdy. I like how it locks down the bikes as well. I use extra bungee cords to secure the tires on the rack. Would be 5 star if it was a little lighter. If you want something solid that you don't have to worry about while driving, this might be it.

Had it about a week. The rack was easy to assemble and the directions are clear. I took my time and actually read the directions. It helps. I installed it as I assemble it to save bending over so much and to reduce the final weight. We are using just the rack for two, and will add the additional rack when traveling with friends and family. The pins come out easily when lowering it to get in the back hatch or when lifting it upright for travel without bikes.

Horrible response. We purchased it ahead of time to ensure it came in order to properly install. We called amazon before we headed out of the country last month about it missing a piece. They told us we could just pick up a foam piece at a local hardware store then Amazon said call when we return home. We returned home and headed out for our first trip today with this rack. It was bouncing everywhere and screws came loose as well as a pin broke. The worst part is that one of our brand new bikes fell of it on the Highway nearly causing a bad accident and the bike is completely damaged. DO NOT purchase this rack!!!!

The only negative about this product is the weight, it’s is in the heavy side, beside that it’s a good product...I’ll rate this product a 4 stars.

Arrived on time and assembled easily.Keep the bikes stable and fasten enough to be relaxed to drive in different situations
