It's Good!
After much deliberation I decided to take the plunge and purchase a Dreamscreen. I had read the many varied reviews and demos. The product I received was exactly the one advertised.Set up was very simple and the app connected straight away.I have had to place some extra sticky pads on the strips, but I'm guessing the sticky strips that are on the lights can only be so strong, as they need to allow adjustment of position if required.I have found the effect brilliant.Watching the blue planet and other breathtaking scenes are even more spectacular with the added effect.I'm not a "gamer" but watching game trailers with the lights on are brilliant too.I was aware before buying that unless the movie you are watching is full Screen, you do lose a little of the effect if the movie is letter boxed. So,I searched high and low, and there's nothing on the market that does what the Dreamscreen does. If you are 90% tempted, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

4k does not work
Set up of product very easy and phone app easy to use.Mood lighting works well BUK 4k does not work.Works with TV. Sat or dvd but as soon as you connect anything with 4k the screen on tv goes blank. Tried all new hdmi cables and all possible combinations of output and conclude that 4k does not work. Purchased the more expensive 4k version to use with 4k blu ray and now only works if I downgrade signal to 1080. Will be trying to get my money back.

Not good value overall
For the price, it's a bit buggy even when the firmware is updated. Enabling CEC switchoff seems to result in it randomly turning off either the lower half of the LEDs or all the LEDs. Blue is sometimes rendered as maroon for no apparent reason. With CEC switchoff disabled, it works well mostly but the controller box gets so hot that I doubt it'll last for a long time. The diagram of this box in the manual also doesn't match what I received. I expected a better finished product so I can give it only 2 stars. A Philips TV with ambilight built in might be a better bet if you feel you need this functionality.Edited to add: Even with CEC functionality disabled, the unit now displays random behaviour regarding LEDs not lighting up at all, lighting up with completely incorrect colours, or losing its broadband settings. A full factory reset was required to get it working again at one point. This product is rapidly becoming an expensive piece of junk. Subtracting another star for that reason.Further ETA: A recent firmware update appears to have fixed some if not all of the CEC bugs -- a power reset of the unit and any connected HDMI sources is still required every few days. I'm increasing the rating from one to three stars. When this device works, it's fine. When it's buggy, it seems like a frustrating, annoying, expensive piece of junk.

TV is now Awesome.
I stumbled across this product whilst searching for "reactive back lighting" and liked the idea of a one box solution. Reviews in the States appeared to be mostly positive and after watching a few YouTube videos I decided to take the plunge even though it is a bit on the pricey side. The DreamScreen is fairly easy to install especially if your TV is stand mounted, mine is wall mounted, so had to be taken down to do the install. Set up was a breeze using the DreamScreen app....time to try it out!The DreamScreen uses an HDMI hub that sits between your sources and TV that analyses the video signal to give the correct back lighting effect. The information on the DreamScreen says it is CEC and ARC compliant. I immediately ran into issues with connectivity with my AV amp, varying between no picture, no audio or a combination of both as it appeared to be struggling to communicate with my AV amp. After much head scratching and trial and error I worked out that the problem was the ARC connection between my TV and the DreamScreen. I moved the output from the DreamScreen to a non ARC HDMI input on my TV and all issues were instantly solved. This is not a problem for me as all my sources are external, but would be an issue for those wanting to use onboard apps on a smart TV.Once up and running I was very impressed, the colour changing is instant and although some colours are not reproduced perfectly, the overall effect is stunning. I've been running this now for about six weeks with no further issues and to be honest I don't think I would want to watch TV without this ever again.Overall, despite teething problems, I would highly recommend this product.

It’s rubbish nothing else to say, doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.
The app is absolute garbage doesn’t work properly is very temperamental & trying to get it synced to my WiFi what a joke. The system itself is also garbage I was expecting a bit of kit that would be responsive I ended up with an overpriced back light system that doesn’t do as advertised. I am going to try a different light strip to see if that is where the problem is but overall my level of dissatisfaction is off the charts. If I could give this a minus figure it would have been at least a minus 50.I have a Govee system which is 100 times better, would I recommend DreamScreen nope not a chance.
