Easy to use with my camera.

Took it out of the packaging and plugged it into my camera and it started shooting off pics at random as if the button was held down.Took it apart, tightened a screw which put a bit more separation between the contacts and then it started functioning.Works great after fixing it :)For the price, I can deal with the quality control issues :)Works great with a k3II

Got it for my older K100D and it works great so far. Haven’t tried multiple shot feature yet…probably never will, but happy with it.

I got this cable in about a week ago, or so. It works fine on my Pentax K30 and K3. I am uploading a photo of the cord plugged into my K30 since that camera is in the group of cameras that most people will be interested in here on Amazon.This remote release will not work with any of the point-n-shoot cameras since the don't have the cable release socket.

I haven't had it very long. Here is what I have discovered about it. I fist installed it to my camera, Pentax K30, and it wouldn't work. I realized that I had to position the cable to the back instead of down to make it work as designed. after doing that it worked just fine. So far I'm satisfied with it. TFCOR

Positives first, I suppose: The remote looks and feels nice. The button has a good press, and it has the option to press-and-slide so that it's held down for Bulb shots. It even has a nice gold-green indicator color, to easily see if the button is still down.The problem is this: Although it's explicitly advertised as being compatible with the Pentax KP (and others), it is not, at least as it arrives. As you might be able to see from the pictures, this remote has a 2.5 mm plug. Pentax KP (and I believe the K-70 and most other mid-range Pentax bodies) use a 3.5 mm socket. So, out of the box, it will not work with several of the cameras listed.I don't have a 2.5-to-3.5 adapter on hand. When I get one, I'll see how (and if) the remote actually functions. I'll update with anything I discover.EDIT: I've tried it with two different 2.5-to-3.5 adapters. It DOES NOT work with any of them. With one it simply didn't work, with the other is was able to focus, but not to release the shutter.Very dissapointed.

Habe zwei Pentax Spiegelreflex K3/2 und K500 funktioniert einwandfreiallerdings nur spontan zu hause ausprobiert nicht in freier Wildbahnhabe damit zwangsläufig keine Langzeiterfahrungen.

Simple to use and no batteries

This one has a specific Pentax jack. Out of the box it worked fine on my K5 II and considering how simple the mechanism is on these things I expect it to work consistently for as long as I own my camera. The other one I had in a similar price range had an interchangeable jack that worked only intermittently and with a cord that was too long for good management. Cord is 1 m long which is a tidy length for me. Also comes with a nifty, fabric, drawstring bag that is probably useful for cord control while in my camera bag.
