Great Dash Cam with Night Vision and Easy Installation
I’ve been using this dash cam for a short time, and so far I’m very satisfied with it. The video quality is clear, and the night vision works surprisingly well, which was one of the main reasons I chose this model. I really like that it has multiple cameras, so it captures a wider view of the road. The design is compact and doesn’t block my view while driving. Installation was easy and straightforward, and the instructions were simple to follow. It feels solid and well made for the price. The recording quality during the day is sharp, and at night it still captures important details clearly. Overall, this dash cam gives me peace of mind while driving. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable dash cam.

Nice dash cam for daily driving
I been using the IIWEY N5 dash cam for a few days now. Setup was easy, took me maybe 15 minutes. The 360 view is nice, you see front, back, inside, left and right all at once. Video quality is good in daytime, 1080P looks clear enough for plates close by. Night vision works better than I expected. The IR lights inside help a lot, you can see faces even when it’s dark. App connects fast on my phone, sometimes it disconnect but reconnecting fixes it. Parking mode works, it already recorded one small bump in a parking lot. The free 128GB card is a big plus, no need to buy extra. Wires are a bit messy if you don’t hide them right. Instructions was okay but not super clear. Overall I like it. Feels worth the money and gives peace of mind while driving and parked.

One of the best features is the mobile app. Connecting via Wi-Fi is seamless, making it very easy to view and download videos directly to my phone. The video quality is sharp across all channels, providing great peace of mind while driving. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable, full-vehicle security!

Loads of options, great functionality for the price
WOW! This dashcam is really a feature-loaded device. Some features are great, others require a bit of a learning curve, but all in all, it's a really cool addition to any car. I'll try to describe all the "issues" and workarounds that I went through during my installation & testing. Installation: The N5's big differentiator from most other dashcams in this price range is the side cameras, which greatly expand the recorded field-of-view, an excellent feature if, for example, you're sideswiped. Before installing the N5, ensure that you check the location on the windshield to minimize the obstruction of the side cameras by your side pillars. Which brings up another potential issue. Before purchasing this camera, check to see if there are any restrictions on where you can mount this camera on your windshield. The optimal place, in my opinion, is below the rear-view mirror to maximize visibility to the sides. The side cameras actually swivel 180 degrees, so you can, if you want, even record the people inside the car. However, some states only allow specific locations, so please check. The camera manual provides a QR Code link to a video on installation, but it's somewhat incomplete. First of all, it's not obvious from either the manual or the video that, once mounted, the dashcam is removable after installation. Yes, it is, but make sure you mount the plate in the correct orientation. Two plates are supplied, one plate says "up" on it, the other does not. The dashcam is removed from the mounting plate by sliding it away from the windshield, so a quick test should confirm what orientation is correct. I imagine a second plate is supplied in case your windshield needs replacement, a nice undocumented touch indicative of potentially good customer service. Routing the dashcam wires is straightforward; they even supply a "sponging tool" to make it easier. The supplied wires (power and rear camera) are purposely made long, so you might have to be creative in where to "stash" the extra wire in your vehicle. My suggestion is that you start routing the wiring at the end FURTHEST from the dashcam, and store the excess near the front. That way, if you ever need to move the mounting hardware to a different location (a non-trivial job, FYI), which would probably require more or less wire length, you only have to fiddle with minimal de-installation of the original wiring. Make sure when installing the rear view camera that you orient it correctly so the displayed image on the dashcam is not upside down. Operation: Like any multifunction device, scrolling through the menus is a learning curve. The supplied manual, in my opinion, is very complete in explaining these settings, but the button pressing to get there might take some getting used to before you can do it quickly. One...err..."incomplete" statement made in the manual troubleshooting section is that for testing, use your phone charger and a USB-C cable to run the camera in your house. First of all, the USB-C connection on the camera is 5 volts only, and if your charger only supports 5 volts (like most chargers with only USB-A ports), then you're fine. BUT- the latest and greatest cell phones and PC's all have USB-C charging ports that NEGOTIATE the charging voltage. When I tried to use a few of the ones I have with the N5, the charger simply would not supply any power. Older chargers- no problem, just a nuance to be aware of. Since the N5 does not support GPS, it needs a method to set the time and date. There is a manual setting in the menu for this, and it will maintain the clock even when external power is disconnected, but I did not test how long it will do this (it depends on the status of the internal battery). The manual "implies" that this battery is rechargeable, but if you don't use the N5 for an extended period of time, check and see if the displayed time and date is accurate. I checked mine after 3 days, and it was still spot-on accurate. If not, power the N5 up and either reset the time in the Menu or link your phone app. Once linked, within "a few minutes", the N5 internal clock should automagically sync to the cell phone, which is always very accurate, and at the same time recharge the internal battery. The manual states that the N5 may run hot if its internal WiFi (which BTW is local only, no networking) is kept on for a long time. They also state that it is recommended that, for reliable operation, the N5 not exceed 70 deg C (158 deg F). I've found that other less expensive dashcams have bit the dust just being exposed to heat (the LCD screen usually croaks), so I'm anticipating that this one will be more "robust" since I park outside my garage. So far, so good, and I live near Phoenix, AZ, not known for its cool, mild summer weather. The 3" display screen can be programmed to show front only, rear only, or all 4 cameras. While the N5 records all 4 cameras on the SD card, for viewing purposes, due to the small screen, I only use the display for the rear view camera. Other nuances: The iPhone app linked to in the manual's download QR code is not the same as the one described in the installation video, but they appear to be similar enough that you shouldn't have much trouble extrapolating. The N5 internal WiFi turns off if motion is not detected, but is easily restarted (one button press). Note the internal WiFi is needed only for linking to a cell phone, and a cell phone connection is NOT REQUIRED nor recommended for long-term use. Apparently, the internal WiFi is power hungry, which will exacerbate any heat issues. The N5 does have a "collision parking feature", but it does require purchasing an extra hardware kit (just like every other dashcam I've seen that has this feature). I did order one of these also and will report on it in that review. All things considered, this is an excellent camera for the money. The 1080p resolution is adequate for, say, license plate identification, and certainly sufficient due to the small screen size. The fact that it's been in my car for a few weeks now, and in the internal temperature during the day has gotten...err..." quite warm" with no degrading effects on usability, I'm definitely giving it 5 stars. Note: the picture shows a right-angle USB-C adapter, which I happen to have. It is not supplied with the N5 package.
