Psion Series 5MX 16MB Handheld COMP

A much needed replacement that works a treat. Great machine, nothing to touch it in the realm of keyboard - Apple could learn from this battery life - any smartphone maker could learn from this

I have been the owner of a Psion 5Mx since they first appeared on the market, repairs to screen keyboard etc have been done over the years, until it finally died,then discovered it was still available for sale and purchased it recently via Amazon,however, I had stored all my info on the memory card and obtaining another 5Mx I was able to recall all this to the just obtained one, putting in a new password one I could not possibly forget, has done me no favours as it refuses to recognise the password so I can get the drop down menu to change it, cannot change it unless it recognises the original one, so am stuck except for doing a soft or indeed a hard reset, which may not acheive anything with regard to password changing, I have missed it but fear now, operating Windows XP when originally it was 95 or possibly 98, it will not although showing all the files on the PC allow me to copy/paste to or from 5Mx or PC, maybe some incompatability issue, I may consider a second purchase, because I love the way you can store vast amounts of info in many different ways, and do it in the middle of the Sahara desert if necessary.

The screen of my 5MX I use in the office failed and buying this was cheaper than having the repair carried out. Hopefully it will last till my retirement in Sept 2014!

Sent out the damaged unit for the repair and service. Returned within 3 working days with replacement of damaged parts. Very impressed with the swift service.
