SIM inactive, no replacement or timeline for activation offered.
This would have been great value for money, had the SIM worked. Used in a tp link router, and SIM showed not connecting to internet. Rang EE next day, said as it was a Scancom account there was no support and to take it up with them. Rang Scancom, said there was nothing they could do on a Friday, to email them and they'd look into it Monday. Did this, and Monday came around. Still no internet. Still no fix. Said it was a technical problem affecting some Sims. Made no offer to send a new one out asap, as you'd expect might be a solution and reasonable display of service. Chased it up then over the course of the week. No news. No fix. No internet. They responded promptly to emails which was good, but in the end got tired of waiting, with no apparent solution on the horizon and no offer of either sending another card out (presumably they'd had other purchases in the meantime and happy to keep sending potentially defunct cards out to other customers) nor any timeframe or offer of remuneration or assurances that it would ever work. Left with little choice but to get a refund. With EE effectively closing the door on me as the account is with Scancom and not them, I chose to get a PAYG data card, which worked perfectly straight away, and waited about two weeks for Scancom to refund me, even though it was returned promptly. Think I sent it back on the 16th and was finally refunded on the 29th. All in all, disappointment. Seems a lottery if your SIM works or not, and they'll refuse to send another out in the latter case. Not for me.

Working great, very pleased
Working great in a Huawei B535 4G router in bridge mode with Poynting Xpol 1 4G antenna and Orbi WiFi mesh in rural location. Currently getting 60 mbit down, 40 mbit up. Easy to install, just had to swap out the old SIM, reboot the 4G router, reboot the Orbi router, and when the Orbi WiFi came back up it was all working.Keep in mind that this SIM is a DIY product, you are expected to be able to supply and configure your own network hardware. It's a good idea to test that you have a strong EE signal before purchase - I confirmed this using a phone on 1pmobile, which uses EE.I was a little apprehensive after reading the negative reviews from setups that recently (around June 2024) stopped working, but reading the forums it seems this was caused by some routers not handling the ongoing national 3G turnoff. Unfortunately some routers look for the 3G signal and hang if it isn't found. This problem isn't specific to Scancom or EE, it's going to affect every network as they turn off 3G in different areas. Apparently it can be fixed by disabling 3G and forcing 4G/5G(NSA) in router settings, or upgrading to a fixed firmware if available, or using a different router. Having said that, this problem doesn't seem to have affected my Huawei B535 at all, it worked first time without any changes.Netflix streaming is working fine. I've read that Netflix won't work with EE and this SIM if your router tries to use ipv6. In my case, both the B525 and the Orbi default to ipv4, so it wasn't an issue for me. If it does happen to you, then disabling ipv6 in your router settings will apparently fix it.EE use CGNAT on ipv4, and block incoming connections on ipv6, so services that need incoming ports won't work. This typically affects incoming SSH, remote desktop to your home PC, some multiplayer video games etc. EE support don't have a solution for this, they just say that their mobile broadband isn't suitable for online gaming. There are apparently ways around this (e.g. the AA L2TP tunneling service) but it's an extra hassle and cost to consider.
