Molecular Biology of the Cell 5E

I'm not studying biology, but I got this book after watching a TV programme about the inner working of the cell. This textbook is interesting and easy to read, and I've learned a lot about ribosomes and enzymes and the wonders of evolution. Recommended.

For someone wanting to learn and appreciate molecular biology and genetics this book is a must. It is well written detailed and exhaustive, but flawless with good flow which makes it easy to understand and comprehend . Requires dedication and hard work to sift through the pages, but the end product of effort and determination is well worth it. The downside is really its size as it is not something that one can carry it around during didactics. It is definitely money well spent.

I've shed more tears over this one book than any novel. What an emotional rollercoaster!

An absolute classic. Not one you want to be lugging into lectures every morning, but well written, good diagrams and the most thorough examination of many aspects of molecular biology/biochemistry I've encountered.

A very good book recommended by my university lecturers. Very well laid out so it doesn't feel too clustered like a lot of other books can sometimes feel - it doesn't feel like there's too much being fit onto one page. The diagrams are great and I sometimes get lost in reading other things instead of doing the work that's intended. I just find it to be one of the pleasant books that I don't mind reading when I'm told that are extra reading chapters are in it.

I was very very surprised because the book I received looked like new, But it actually was used.Thus I am very happy with it and I'm surely going to buy here again! The price was also quite cheap: if I had bought it here in Italy, it would've cost me twice as much!

I am a computer scientist who is about to start a bioinformatics course. I've read only the first 300 pages so far and I am very happy - I gained an in-depth understanding of many concepts. I have never felt so affection towards a textbook before - I recommend it greatly.

Raccoglie tutto ciò che fino al 2008 circa è stato scoperto sulla biologia. le immagini sono a dir poco fantastiche e si spiegano meglio del testo. Sono state la salvezza in questa crowed cell. Cosigliatissimo. Come dice il mio professore di biologia, ciò che è davvero interessante è ciò che ancora non è scritto in questo libro. Questo serve per diventare un ottimo medico, ma per essere eccellente bisogna andare oltre e più a fondo.

An essential book for everyone stuying biology. It contains all the principles and fundamentals of molecular cell biology. Un libro indispensable para todo aquel que necesite conocimientos sobre biología celular. Sin duda, para mí uno de los mejores.

On the one hand you easily get an overview on cells, but also a lot of insight into all the little details. Helps in a lot of subjects, so everyone who studies (something with) biology should get it.
