Crown Automotive Speedometer Gear Housing O-Ring

Fits all 231J Transfer cases. 1997-2006 Jeep TJ/LJ NOT RUBICONs.!

Stopped the leak coming from my NP231 transfer case, 95 Jeep Cherokee (XJ)

When I removed the original and compared this new o-ring to the old, you could see a size difference in the thickness of the material. I used some calipers to measure both and this new one was smaller in thickness. If this is suppose to be a replacement for stock I don't see how its going to keep the speedometer gear from leaking. Also, to return this item it cost $3.97, which is more than half the price of the o-ring. Thats a little ridiculous.

Purchased with the speed gear to fix the speedometer after an upgrade to 33" tires on a jeep. It worked great.

Replaced the O-ring when I changed speedometer gears on the NP249 transfer case on my Jeep ZJ. Fit just like the O-ring it replaced. Probably didn't need to replace it, but for a couple of bucks, it didn't hurt.

Just the right amount of rubber, the right size and shape! Fit for my 2000 Wrangler for a spedo gear swap.
