My son brought me a pair of his ski pants which the back seam up his rear was starting to come apart. The seam had been covered by seam tape which was now loose and unattached to the seam. I found Gear Aid Seam Grip on Amazon and ordered it. After re-sewing the seam, I applied Gear Aid Glue to the seam tape and laid it over the seam. I may have applied too much because it seeped through the fabric and although I gave it 24 hours for the glue to dry, on the outside, the seam showed what looked like a wet streak along the seam. My son was glad to have his pants back - intact for another season.

my air cushion got stuck in a bad place, and in the process of removing it from said place, it ripped. I figured I would have to get a new air cushion as the damage was fairly substantial (but in a small location). I bought this kit, applied the patch, and it appears to be holding. The true test will be when I take the pad for an extended camping trip, so we will see then, but no air seems to have leaked out and the submerged water leak test is also negative.

Glue works really well, but takes a long time to fully cure if you are trying to seal something like fishing waders, mattress, tent seam, small holes in a waterproof jacket. Tape doesn't work very well for fully sealing up air mattresses (use the glue), but works ok for temporarily slowing the leak or holding together small rips in a down jacket, shoe, or backpack.

My $100+ self inflating mattress developed a leak. The leak was in a tricky location for a patch, so I did some research and found this kit. The glue worked perfectly for sealing the leak. We just came back from camping for two weeks, and the seal never failed. I have also used Gear Aid Tenatious Tape for tent repair. The Tenatious Tape patch I did on our tent's rain fly is four years old now, and it continues to perform great. We've never had a leak. I highly recommend Gear Aid products as I have always had great success with them.

I got this patch kit in hopes of repairing an REI brand waffle sleeping mat. The mat had two very pin-hole sized leaks on the seams. First, I used the Thermarest patch kit but that failed to get in the crevice of the waffle design of the mat. This kit worked great to get the seal needed. Once I cleaned and dried the area I used the glue- the company call this some other name- to seal the holes along the seams. I also trimmed a patch down and put that over the glue once it dried. The patches also have a sticky back to use as a quick option. This double action patch did the trick.

Wayexpensive for what you get but is nice

I had a small leak in my Sleep Number canvas mattress. It's been about a week since I repaired with this kit and there is no sign of any leak. So far so good.

Easy to use for patching up a rip in my gore-tex pants. The pants are now ready to fight another day in the bush.
