I didn’t realize it required extra hardware not included. You’ll want a control hub for any accessories to connect to your Lorex system.

Be prepared to buy a battery. I ordered 5 of these sensors and all of the batteries were dead. The sensors are packed with the batteries inside of them with no protective strip to keep the battery from draining while the sensors are sitting idle in inventory. And you will get no support from the “sales support” email on their website. They replied back to my email but they punted to the IT department with only a number to call. When I called the call dropped several times.So you pay $29.99 plus tax per sensor and another $7-$9 dollars for a new battery depending on which brand you buy. The annoying part is the fact that you wait for your sensors to arrive only to find out that you can’t install them because the batteries are dead and the Lorex customer support team offers no help or effort to reimburse you for the additional cost.When I emailed the Lorex sales support email and informed them about the packaging flaw and to either package there battery outside the sensor or to add a barrier strip to keep the battery from draining the suggestion was never acknowledged in the reply email. So in short, it’s not even worth their trouble to even acknowledge it. That’s very suggestive of the poor customer service I’ll probably encounter should I need help with the security system in the future. Very disappointing.

The add-on sensor could not be added to the system because the battery that came with the sensor was dead (LED light did not illuminate red). I purchased a replacement battery. With the new battery, the sensor worked (LED light was active) and the add-on sensor could then be paired with the system.
