Q: Does this tool have a completely hollow shaft, i.e. vents at both the cup, or insertion, end and the bottom end?

YES!! This is a Vented Scleral Cup, so it has small hole at the other end as well. You can always count on DMV Products. The company is owned and operated by an Optometrist in Zanesville, Ohio.

Q: Does this work for regular lenses or just a specific kind?

My husband uses this for a hard scleral lens, which is a bigger diameter than a regular hard contact lens. Not sure if it will work for those. He tried to use the lens inserted for a soft lens but it didn’t work for that

Q: Will this work for rgp lens?

It depends on the diameter of your lens. My RGP lenses are small, just a little over 1/4 inch in diameter and I think this would be too large for those. I’ll try it tonight and post what I learn.

Q: Can you use this with soft lenses?

I’m not sure, I use this in my hybrid contacts. Hard in the middle and soft on the outer
