Accurate Energy Monitor: Professional Setup strongly recommended, complex HA Integration
• Solid Performance: The Refoss Smart Home Energy Monitor delivers reliable, accurate energy consumption tracking, offering detailed real-time data that helps you understand your home’s electricity usage.• User Experience: In my experience, the device itself works very well and provides useful insights for managing energy use, making it a strong choice for those who value precision.• Home Assistant Integration Challenges: Despite its excellent performance, I couldn’t get Home Assistant to work with it. This is a notable drawback if you’re planning to integrate your smart home devices seamlessly.• Mandatory Professional Installation: The installation instructions are exceptionally clear: you must hire a licensed professional. This not only increases the overall expense but also adds extra time to the installation process.• Overall Verdict: If you’re after a dependable energy monitoring solution and are comfortable with the additional cost and effort for professional installation, this is a great device. However, if Home Assistant integration is a priority, you need to be aware that it might be a little tricky to set up.Last Note:The pictures I've added show one of the very strong recommendations not to install it yourself. I didn't realize how complex this would be. I also wanted to show how sleek that packaging and design were. The orange is nice since it's easy to identify all the other wires in the electric panel.Update:Customer service was helpful and gave me further instructions to set up home assistant. I'm adding an additional star due to great customer service. They informed me that most people are able to install it by themselves. I unfortunately was too intimidated by all of the warnings to not install yourself and hire a professional. Honestly must have been a CYA kind of thing.Anyways, just understand what you're getting yourself into when doing this!

Works Well, Manual Could be Improved, Overall Good Purchase
Once installed the monitor did a good job at what it says it will do. Initially, I was going to install this in our house however, there simply was not enough room in our electrical panel for that to happen so I opted to install it at my parent's house as they have more room in their panel. As other reviews have stated the direction in which the clamps need to be facing is incorrect according the manual and arrows on the clamps themselves, but this is a simple fix. The manual could be improved a bit as needed to do a bit of research to determine exactly which instructions to follow. It would be nice if they app could have an overview with charts for overall circuit usage. Where you can see how much each circuit is contributing to the overall power usage, but maybe this will come with time.Overall, it works and does what it says it will. I was able to successfully install it, however, I can easily see how it might be too complicated for others, and so professional installation might be needed by an electrician.

Accurate, easy to use, and great for energy-conscious homeowners
The Refoss Home Energy Monitor is a simple and effective solution for tracking household electricity usage. Installation is straightforward, with two main circuit sensors and 16 branch circuit sensors, making it easy to monitor specific areas of your home's energy consumption. One of the best features is the app, where you can name each circuit for easy identification and view reports by minute, day, month, or year. However, a custom date range report option within the app would be a welcome addition. While you can download data for a specific period, having the ability to view it directly in the app would improve usability.I labeled my two main circuits as A1-Phase A and B1-Phase B to track total consumption and compare it with my electric bill. To my surprise, Refoss recorded 438.029 kWh, while my bill reported 439 kWh—a nearly perfect match, proving that the device is highly accurate and reliable. Now, the question is: Do you need a home energy monitor? If you enjoy smart home gadgets and want to track energy usage, identify power-hungry appliances, and optimize consumption, then this is a great tool to have.
