Cadac Safari Chef 2 Pro QR BBQ - Black

We had the older version of the safari chef and have just upgraded to this. We are a fan of it already and we love cooking on it. For us as a couple it is ideal Easy to ignite, clean and offers versatility of cooking methods.

After a little faffing getting the right gas valve (I bought the quick release version in error) I finally got to try this bad-boy out in the field (literally!) and I wasn’t disappointed. It packs away into a really useful package, each component sits inside another so it’s compact. The different grill tops zipped into the ‘lid’ of the carry case are separated by a cloth so no risk of scratching. The fat pan, saucepan and then burner assembly stack to further shrink the over all package. Set up is as easy as winding the gas canister in to an adapter and pushing the quick release connector home. The unit has a robust piezoelectric ignition so no matches required. I first used on a slightly blustery day, but due to the burner sitting inside the fat pan this didn’t affect the flame. The cleverly designed grill tops have an integral heat spreading system to ensure no one spot it hot whilst the edges remain cold, it got up to temperature very quickly and the non-stick surface is just that - it was so non stick that one of my sausages and a burger slipped off, so came with some extra garnish (don’t tell the missus!) but that was more my clumsiness than an issue with the grill. The unit cooled down nice and quickly, so we were able to wash it as soon as we had finished eating, so no issues with waking up to dirty dishes. All in all, I highly recommend this. It’s a great compact unit.

I was looking for a compact solution for camping weekends so that we need minimal kit for family weekends away. The stove is really sturdy and is easy to disassemble. It comes with a useful bag for storage and the whole product been well thought out. The only thing I would say is that there is one slot for the grill pan in the top of the bag, it would be good to have another couple of smaller bags to stop the metal pans and the hot plate from scratching in storage.

This is an easy to use multi-purpose outdoor gas cooking system , which is compact and easy to store in our campervan. It gives you an authentic outdoor experience without the hassle of charcoal BBQ's and can be used quickly anytime eg Breakfast

Firstly it is advertised as chef 2 pro but item arrived and it is hp 30, I believe they are the same. The item arrived with damage to the grill plate, I have contacted the seller for a replacement grill plate rather than sending the whole unit back, They have replied and told me they will generate a replacement on the warranty of the unit so I will have to wait for that. The unit itself seems sturdy, the carry/storage bag seems good quality however I have not used it as yet so time will tell, I will update at later date. I can not rate other aspects as yet

I never liked gas barbecues but this little device has changed my mind. Best finish of any meat I’ve eaten. It has very controllable heat. Fast to boil water. It’s very compact for all that it does. I managed to cook for 8 people in batches and worked perfectly. No more charcoal for me!

I bought this BBQ because for a camping use and today I tested it. I'm very happy with my purchase. I hardly write any reviews but this South African design BBQ excided my expectations. Lovely addition to your outdoor adventures. Five stars

Really impressed by this little grill, so far it's lived up to all the hype I've read - especially amongst the Campervan fraternity. It's a perfect size for the two of us. We opted for the low pressure system as it gives more gas options. We also bought the plancha griddle (optional) - does great bacon and eggs! Seems like if you don't cook with too high a flame the non-stick surface works really well for cleaning. So far I would definitely recommend this product.
