My cat loves this scratching post. The post has a large base that adds to its sturdiness and durability. It is a decent size and the quality is pretty good too. In addition, it comes with an easy assembly and is quite lightweight. Overall, this is a handy item. Recommended

My cat took to as soon as I took it out of the box. He helped put it together (laid on the post and dared me to take them). He Climbs up and around and sometimes just lies under, looking as if he's enjoying his own little island. I Am looking on how to safely add another length.

The good:--this scratching post was easy to assemble--it's actually a good height (I've been fooled by Amazon pictures that show similar "cat to scale" images that are really only like half as big)--the dangling ball is attached with elastic so that it bounces when pulled, which makes it actually a fun cat toyThe bad:--the design and assembly are pretty clunky. The pole join is obvious and you can see the edges of binding nails, which makes me a little nervous for sharp edges going forward. The top leaves don't serve any function and you can see the screw holding them from the top.--It's not actually stable enough for a large cat to scratch without rocking or tipping! This is the major problem for me. Our cat is ~14lbs and long/tall. His first try at using this scratching post made it wobble dramatically enough to scare him off. So, if we're going to keep it, we'll have to come up with a way to stabilize it.

Perfect if you want a decent scratch post for your cats while trying to keep your room looking nice. The setup took less than 10 minutes. The scratch post is as pictured. My cats love it and even have crazy ideas of jumping on the top.
