ACTIVISION Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex (PS2)

Many Crash fans who would call themselves "hardcore" dislike this game. "It's just Crash Bandicoot 3 with long loading times and a few more vehicles" they complain. And I can happily say that that statement is an insult to those at Traveller's Tales who developed the game. OK, maybe the loading screens are a little long, but with a maximum wait of 20 seconds is that really a valid complaint? The game improves upon both the graphics and platforming of the PS1 trilogy in many ways. The graphics are an obvious upgrade, and are nice to look at. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. The platforming is improved by making the levels longer and wider, allowing for more space. The game can be very challenging to complete while getting all the extra bonus collectibles. The vehicle levels aren't very good though, there were some that felt fun like the "Super Monkey Ball"-esque ball levels, but most of them such as the plane levels were just boring and didn't fit in with the game. Thankfully, the game is 3/4 platforming and 1/4 vehicle levels, so this does not distract from the main game too much. Overall, highly reccommend the game, best Crash Bandicoot game ever, huge improvement over the original PS1 trilogy.

OK, so you have to wait a short while for each section of the game to load...but it's worth the wait. This game is so much fun and sooo addictive! Visually, a feast for the eyes and the game control is so precise that you have to be pretty accurate...which adds to the challenge. Be prepared to lose hours as it's impossible to put down.
