Q: Will furniture fade from sun if this cover is on?

We have had this cover over our furniture for about a year, and no fading. Even the cover hasn't faded and we are in direct sunlight for several hours during the day.

Q: What material is it made of?

I am not sure, but I will say that it does the job, almost too well. If you live in an environment with lot's of humidity, then it is recommended to uncover furniture that has cushions regularly. It will keep water out but humidity in. But I love it! fits perfectly! It has also faded, but it's in the Florida sun, all day and I have had it for almost a year.
