Has anyone used this to level a basement foundation prior to pour?

While I have not used this particular builders level for the purpose described, I have used it to level numerous (more than 20) foundations and block courses with great accuracy. This level, when set up properly, is one of the most accurate on the market and even surpasses the accuracy of many laser levels that cost much more. I am on my second Dewalt builders level, I donated the first one to an organization that could not afford one, it still operates accurately to this day (it is 12 years old). One word of advice, if at all possible set the level up in an area that is not in direct sunlight if it is hot out, that is the only thing that seems to affect the accuracy (i think it is because the entire level does not expand with the heat at the same time). Does this unit have a zoom feature?

The lens knob around the viewfinder provides focus but does not zoom in.

Can the calibration be easily adjusted?

Yes, the calibration is a 60 minute graduated piece along the edge of the disc marked in degrees. The most difficult adjustment is to get the unit leveled. Since there are only three level adjustments instead of four, it takes some fiddling to achieve a level siting.
