Doll and Cookbook Packaging are Amazing
Okay, because this doll is my favorite character of the Rise of the Red movie, I had to get her. I love the cookbook container the doll comes in, with all its floral pink artistic glory. The think the artwork is fabulous. The doll itself is more basic, and has a few accessories (all gold), but is still very pretty. I have not used the ingredients to make both the slime and fizz to "cook up" the spells, so I can't review that portion of the product. I am very happy with this purchase! If you love Bridget, get this!

It is a short thrill!
So, this Mattel Disney Descendants: The Rise of Red Doll makes you do at least one recipe to open and play with the doll! I laugh because in order to write this review I went through the play experience. I didn’t really like it. I dissolved the bubble of foam and got the key to unlock the doll. The box is a bit fragile with thin plastic and cardboard parts. I think the “spellbook” should have a better approach so it can be something more lasting, and it can be kept. The color changing boots is slow and hardly noticeable. Mom like the doll and said it was cute. Depending on the age of the child I guess this would make some good parent/child time for entertainment.

Great gift!
As always, Nate has come out with a great toy. My daughter loves all of the descendants movies and this toy was a great addition to her doll. She already has. The mystery aspect of it is so fun and we enjoyed opening and up following the directions. The doll is very pretty and high-quality. Great gift!

Hair not like picture!!!!
No wonder they put the doll inside the cookbook behind a looked compartment. She looks nothing like what’s pictured, hair wise!! This doll looks like she stood out in the rain. Hair looks TERRIBLE!!! Nothing like the perfect curls in the picture. I would NOT have spent $30 on this had I known what it actually was going to look like. I should have looked at reviews. Disappointed in Mattel. Definitely dropped the ball on this one.

Waste of money
I am giving this doll a 3 because she has a cute face and her outfit isn't bad. That being said, I found another doll on here with the same face for half the price. The other doll is fully articulated, the outfit is much more detailed, and she has more accessories including a cupcake. This doll only has five points of articulation: (2) shoulders, (2) hips, and (1) neck. Her dress is cute, but very basic. Same goes for her hair, it's cute but basic. The hair is already tangled and it came that way from the box. For accessories, she has a "charm" belt. There are no pierced ears. The thing that saves her is her face. Her makeup is super cute and overall it looks great. She even has subtle shimmer just below her eyebrows. The face sculpt is pretty. She has a nose that is a bit bigger and a square jawline. Mine has a noticeable scuff on her lips. For this doll, you are paying for a plastic box that you are probably going to throw away. She comes with slime that feels gross and is not fun or interesting to make. You are supposed to stir it for 6 minutes. I am not sure who wants to do that. For the next step, you let a "bath" bomb dissolve in water for 6 minutes. Thrilling. It's not even the type of bath bomb that is safe to use in the tub, so it is pretty uneventful. The box itself is poorly made and won't last long. The printed part under the skull is just cardboard. A major part of the item's cost is made from a material that will get ruined if water gets on it.If this doll sold as a budget line doll for under $7, she'd be great. She has the same level of quality as they do, but instead she sells for a much higher price and you get the joy of watching bubbles from a "bath" bomb. Wow.My advice is to buy the version with a cupcake. That one is way more detailed and would be a better doll for both kids and collectors. Skip this one.

Fun and engaging water play activity and doll playset
The sorcerer’s cookbook for Bridget is made of pink and gold plastic with colorful printed cardboard backing pieces on the front, back and inner door. The gold printed book pages are made of plastic. The pink and gold color scheme is lovely with really cool looking skeleton hands as closures for the cookbook. There are 3 different recipes or rather water play features of the cookbook, 1 creates pink slime, 1 is a pink fizzy bath bomb that reveals the time key to unlock the doll and 1 that is a color change of the doll’s boots with cold water. The playset includes a plastic pink crown shaped bowl, a small plastic cup and a gold scepter/stirrer/spoon to complete the water play activities. There is an included plastic tray to use that comes in handy because the fizzy bath bomb foams up over the rim of the crown bowl (use on a water safe surface). If you prefer not to do the water activities the doll can be removed by manually turning the small key shaped knob. The Bridget doll comes with pretty wavy, long pink hair. She is wearing a pink dress with sheer pink puffed short sleeves, printed hearts along the bodice and a hot pink flared skirt. The dress has a Velcro closure at the back. The doll is also wearing a gold plastic belt with heart charms as well as pink plastic boots and both items are removable. A doll stand is not included, but the doll can stand alone if balanced properly. The doll has basic articulation and moves at the neck, shoulders and hips. She is a little under 11 inches tall. This is a fun and engaging water play activity and doll playset. The added bonus of the cookbook that can be used as storage or a background or a playset scene for your doll and accessories makes this really nice. Overall, a great doll playset for a reasonable price, now I need to buy the other cookbooks to complete the set.
