Bought this for my 3 year-old train-obsessed grandson, and now buying another so he can have one at his house, too. He would play with this on his train set all day if we let him! What I appreciate as an adult: although it makes noise, it's not loud enough to bother me. The noises it makes are realistic and appropriate, including a bell, whistle, chug-a-chugga, braking, stopping. The "steam" is pretty cool, and isn't continuous, so you don't have to refill it constantly. I can't speak to durability, but so far he plays with for 1-2 hours each day, and it's still like new.

Excellent little engine! Reall smoke makes it worth it! My little guy was so excited! Goes through batters quickly, so make sure your little one turns it off! 3 buttons, power/pause, forward/reverse, and smoke function. The smoke takes a few minutes to start running so be patient! Without other trains attached to the engine, it has a hard time staying on the track. Forwards and reverse. Minor issue, but it is something ive noticed!

This little train is a hit with my Grandson who loves all things trains. It has a real steam function which adds to the excitement. The battery life has been good. The design of the train gives it an authentic appearance along with the sounds and color. This is a very good value for everything this little engine can do. It works with track master, Brio and Play rail tracks.

this is our second one and it stopped working. I’m not sure if the water is damaging it or what’s going on.

Amazing little train. It's small, but it has so many features and is strong enough to pull a line of cars along the track. The only fault I found is that it doesn't have the same strength to go around the tracks inclines in reverse Update: the rubber grips on the drive wheels wear out in a short time

The best of all the trains I purchased for twins birthday. This one has great sounds and a large amount of smoke for steam. Little water last a long time . Best money spent. I like it better the the $40 name brand one I also purchased .

I got this train a few weeks ago and my son absolutely fell in love with it, becoming one of his favorites to play with, he really liked seeing the "steam" come out of the train as it drove around his track, certainly wasn't a weak engine either and handled the "hills" in the track well when it had a full battery, you could tell when it was getting close to needing new batteries as it would slow down and struggle to climb. Yet as of late, the train has now randomly stopped working at times, by this I mean, it won't move, the lights, sounds and steam functions all work still, and yet the train refuses to move, which has caused my son a great deal of stress as he is autistic and sudden changes like this sets him right off, will be returning it and looking into other options to hopefully take its place. Pros: it has a steam function which I've never seen in train's like this it's fast when it has full batteries it holds up to an autistic three year old who sometimes is rough with it Cons One of my biggest complaints is the fact is it only has one button to cause it to go forwards and backwards, so there are times you want it to go forward yet it will back up and vice versa. Another issue I have with it, is it's power button, the instructions state hold the button for 2 seconds to turn it on, 3 to turn it off, and there are times the train doesn't respond to either to the point where I've tried several times to turn it off, I set it down and come back after a minute and try again and once it's had time to what I would say reset itself, you can turn it off. all in all it's was a nice addition to my son's collection when it worked but sadly it stopped working rather quickly.
