Nice and cold!
Gets so cold that I like it better with a very thin pillowcase over it, which will keep it cleaner anyways so yay for that! Stays cold a while, helpful for the frequent migraines I get. Safer than taking more medicine! It’s got a bit of weight to it, so if you’d put a lot of work into a nice, fluffy hairstyle (I don’t so I don’t know for sure) this might undo your efforts but I still think it would be worth it for some meds-free pain lessening.

Best natural migraine relief-lasts for many years! Great quality!
Have used one of these cranial caps for many years for migraines. Still good as new. Bought 2 more, one for a relative who kept using mine and a spare for me. I don't wear it as a cap b/c I don't like cold ears or neck. I lay down and double it over and wrap around my head with a pillow on top when laying down. Thus it stays cold twice as long. So soft and soothing to my painful head allowing me to fall asleep. It is soft right out of the freezer. Good quality. I wish they could make a cranial cap not covering the ears. But after trying many, many cold packs, these are the absolutely best I have ever had.

Ah, sweet relief!
I'm a regular migraine sufferer and this is glorious! The cold lasts 15-25 minutes, which is the right time period for a cold pack. Would like to reapply but it's really most effective for the initial application only. Applying this at the beginning of a migraine brings instant relief for me...not 100%, but it's wonderful. The challenge with this is that if it is ever stored or placed in the freezer and is not completely flat the gel clumps up inside the ice pack and it becomes useless for it's intended purpose. The manufacturer should really find a way to bond the gel to the fabric. Also, the velcro grabs the fabric and frays it out. I love what it does, don't love the practical lifecycle/quality of the product.

I have chronic migraines and this cap has helped immensly. I put a hand towel on my head before I put the cap on because the cap is so cold, but it relieves the pain so well. I haven’t found anything else that covers my whole head live this does. I use it with an eye mask for total relief while waiting for my meds to kick in. Trust me. If you suffer from migraines this is well worth the money. Just remember to put a towel on your head before applying the cap; otherwise it will be too cold.

Nice product with too short a lifespan.
I like this product. I've used it religiously since college (about 6 years) regardless of whether I have a headache. It helps me tame inflammation and keeps me feeling vibrant and healthy. However, I've purchased about 8 of them. They are pretty expensive, so I get annoyed when they fall apart. Especially as I've become more careful over the years with trying to preserve them, it is more frustrating when they last about a year.I understand that they need to be kept in the bag. However, there are elements at play that just puts an expiration date on these. If there is any humidity in your house, the humidity will begin the process. Make sure the bag is closed tightly- moisture from the freezer will also start the decomposition. There is moisture in the air and moisture outside, and moisture everywhere, so it sucks that this cap falls apart with exposure to moisture. It sort of becomes a soggy mess that no longer fits its cloth exterior, and does not lay on the head as you would want it to.After becoming increasingly careful with handling it, and still watching it fall apart, I had to resign from my role as a loyal customer. I would only buy it again if it were about $20. It just isn't worth the cost if it falls apart so easily.

Highly recommend this product to prevent hair loss during chemo
After reading other reviews for this product, I decided to use during weekly chemo treatments. I put on this cap just before my chemo infusion starts and take it off when infusion ends. I have yet to lose my hair after 5 months of chemo. My hair has thinned just in the last month, but I still most of my hair. I just bought a second cap because the cap does get warm about 40 minutes.

SUBSTANTIALLY INFERIOR to My First Elasto-Get Cap Lg/X-Lg
I purchased this same product...in name only...3 years ago, from Amazon. After hundreds of uses, it sadly was finally time for a new one, as the gel on the inside had apparently started to break down, and slide around, creating large lumps and vacant spots. I'd gotten so much great use out of this cap, I not only wasn't upset about it's failure, but I didn't hesitate to buy a new one. I searched my Amazon purchases, clicked on "purchase again", and completed checkout.Unfortunately, after a couple uses, it's become very apparent to me that this is newer "version" of the Elasto-Gel Cranial Cap is SUBSTANTIALLY inferior to the old design, in both quality/build AND functionality. It's pretty obvious the manufacturer has done some cost-cutting in the materials department, to improve their profits...which greatly diminished the overall quality of their product. This happens all the time in manufacturing, with various products, but I've never seen such a drastic degradation of a product, firsthand. I'm returning this junk to Amazon for a refund, and will have to go back to crushed ice in a gallon freezer bag.Pros- If you have a small head/neck, and can't take too much cold, this may still work for you. Otherwise, it's useless.Cons- MUCH Smaller design. Original weighed 3.5 lbs, new design weighs only 2.25 lbs. Head and neck size are considerably smaller as well. - Does not stay cold NEARLY as long as the old design. Where I used to get a good 30-45 min. of extreme cold, and a couple more hrs of comfortable cooling....I now get 15-20 min. MAX, and it's done...warm and ready to go back in the freezer. - Velcro barely touches the other side, enough to hook on the edge, and still chokes me. The old design had no such issue.

Good cold therapy product
Once I used elastogel I prefer the softness and comfort over any other product I have used. The coldness is not harsh and lasts a good length of time. I owned most types, hand, cervical, lumbar, shoulder, boo boo, rectangular, face eyes, so added the cranial or whole head for headaches just days before a fall and some stitches. Put one product in your freezer.
