In addition, the authors point out the great significance it bears on happiness as we constantly reinforce compassion and love. Each and everyday, a different motivational verse of Script is used as the bond between parent and child becomes stronger, through love and encouragement. In today's busy world, this guide encourages the relationships between parents and their children to continue a strong sense of compassion and understanding for each other. Thought-provoking, interesting, and educational. Highly recommended!

As a parent of teenagers, 17 and 14, it can be very hard to find the balance between too strict versus too relational with kids, knowing when to give grace and how to do it without being taken advantage of. It can also be hard to know when to step in, and when to let your child face trials and failure without rushing to rescue them all the time. Like many families in this era, I have no family around and few female mentors to lean on or ask for help. I've read a couple of great parenting books that have made a really good difference - either helping me understand teens, reassuring me I was doing okay, or helping me change course a little. The great thing about this one is the steps to take. Not just finish a book and hope some ideas stick, or try a few things, but regular things to do - and how to do it! Sometimes a concept in a book is great, but how to do it? This gives suggestions. Rather than consider these day to day steps, I treat them as step 1, step 2. That way, I can take a little longer on one if I want. The nice thing is taking the intentional actions, knowing they are biblically sound. There are ways to consider discipline, guiding kids, spending time with them, setting boundaries, praying for them. I plan to take this into a small group settings in the new year.

I heard about the The Love Dare for couples but when I went to buy it I came across this book. I decided to buy it. Just received and it started today. The daily pages are about 2-3 pages long. Not hard to read, powerful and meaningful. There is also an assessment online to help you see where you at with your parenting and you can take it however many times to evaluate your growth. Thank you Jesus for using the authors to write this book. I will re-evaluate in 40 days. Hope and pray you will take this journey as well.

Good book but this book is about how to fix your relationship with your child. Not how to fix your marriage as a parent

Easy to read. Short chapters. Easy morning or evening 15 minute lessons. But the best part are the dares. It makes me think outside the box and have these little fun challenges that to do that are secrets between God and I. It makes me think more lovingly towards my kids more often.

This should be on every parents shelf, even if you are not religious. I will say that this book has a lot of references for the bible. You can still do the books day to day agenda without the religious stuff. I did it because i completed the one for marriage and my marriage is better because of it. The book tells you not to do it for them but for you. I learned a lot and even if my kids did not get anything out of it, they didn't even know I was doing the dare, you learn a lot from it. I think it helped me become a better parent as well as person by doing this. I would recommend it, its a great read. Again even if you are not religious is a great book to do by yourself or as a family.

I bought this book to work on improving a relationship and it was great for the both of us. I love the 2 to 3 pages of reading, and then room for journaling about your thoughts. I found myself looking forward to coming home from work each day to see what my dare would be for the following day. I also felt a closer connection to God while doing the love dare I would recommend it for anyone even if you don’t have a relationship that needs repaired. I believe it would improve any bond with someone you love that already exists.

Beautifully written. I highly recommend it, even if your marriage doesn't need "lecturing", it is a nice read and a good reminder how to treat our partners..

Amazing book that helps you to connect with and bond with your children deeper than you can ever imagine. I will do this regularly as my children grow older.
