Purple Vitex trees, also called chaste tree and Texas Lilac Tree. Super fast grower: 3-5 feet a year. Grown in backyard nursery of Crape Myrtle Guy in quart containers about 6-12 inches tall. Bloom all summer long and will mature 10-15 feet. Prune into a tree or leave alone and let grow as a large bush. Zone 6-10 Vitex are named a Texas Superstar. Whatās a Texas Superstar ? Texas Superstars are vetted for Texas consumers. The decision as to which plants are highlighted in Texas Superstar marketing campaigns is made by the Texas Superstar Executive Board. The Executive Boardās decision as to which plants should be highlighted is primarily based upon observations made at replicated plots and demonstration trials across the state. In some cases, recommendations made by university horticulturists in other southern states are also considered. Because ornamental plant performance can be rather subjective, the board gathers as much input as possible from competent horticulturists who understand the importance of both landscape performance and marketability. Another important factor considered when selecting plants for educational and marketing campaigns is whether sufficient numbers of plants can be produced to meet the increased consumer demand generated by Texas Superstar efforts.

2 Months In & Thriving!
Planted on March 20, today is May 6. North Texas, 8b. Nice little bit of growth with zero maintenance required. Really appreciate that it is thriving on its own and am hoping to see big growth this summer once the heat sets in. For now, itās still small but definitely larger with more green leaves and tiny blooms.

Outstanding condition upon arrival; very healthy plants.
That's the way you do it! These babies had been thoroughly prepped for shipping. It was an arduous trip but they arrived and drank in the fresh air when I opened the package. I gave them a drink right away. They will be getting a larger pot in a few days, while I find the best spot(s) in the yard. Based on other plant shipments, I did not really expect all four of them to survive the trip. I was pleasantly surprised.Thank you; you even included a can cozy, I like that.

Small but very healthy! Allows the roots to grow deep.
These go dormant in the winter, but emerge with great vigor. I am happy to say I received all promised trees in the Fall, and now that Spring is here, they all look very healthy with bugs leaving them alone so far.

Smaller than expected but they are healthy and thriving
I waited a while before writing this review because they were definitely smaller than I expected; however, after a few weeks they are doing great and growing taller each day. Look forward to summers when they bloom!

Happy Vitex Trees šŖ»šæ
Perfect little trees. They were about the 10 inch height range. Hoping they will be okay with my soil with clay in it. Used miracle grow garden soil to fill in the extra area of the holes dug.Very healthy. Roots are happy. Shipped wrapped in plastic wrap and holds in moisture for an easy trip. Shipping was only a couple days from Texas to Tennessee. Worth every penny. I really appreciate the included Crepe Myrtle Guy can coozie and the detailed care instructions.Thank you Clint and family!Update on September 8,2024: I have had them for a few months now, and they have more than doubled in size during the hottest days of the year with ease. They even have out a few purple blooms. I just make sure to water them once a week if there is no rain. They rooted into my sandy clay soil (zone 7b) without a problem.

Healthy plants!!
These plants are packaged very well, looks very healthy and I have had them planted in the ground for about 3 weeks now and they are doing very well. I will post a photo at later date (itās too dark right now)āŗļø. But, donāt hesitate to purchase these. Itās obvious that these people care about their plants and they want them to do well for you. I measured mine at 17-18 inches and I will re-ck in a month or so and see how they are growing! Iām so excited to see them fully grown!
