Durable tool that is great for getting through roots. I have a yard that needs a lot of work and this is helping me clear a lot of pesky weeds.

I have owned many shovels in my time and the Root Slayer is in a class all its own! I have finally found the shovel i've been needing for 20 years! If you want badass, you got it. First, it's heavy. Man heavy. "Just right heavy" due to the solid steel head and neck. It cuts through 1" roots like butter. It's length allows me to stand up straight and deliver a strong blow to any root i encounter. The teeth on the edge clears smaller roots as I dig. And with the heaviness of it, i can dig a hole in half the time. And don't worry about bending the neck it you pry up a large rock -the rock will break before the Root Slayer does. Hats off to a company that knows the meaning of quality and value. This is one of the best shovels I've used in a long time. I have a narrower one just like it, but the width of this one really is great for planting.

I am a hardcore gardener that has been working hard transforming a heavily wooded lot into a lawn free yard filled with thousands of perennials, shrubs and ornamental trees so I need good working tools. I wanted a heavy duty shovel that could get through hard clay, rocky soil and random old, thick roots. I like the shape of the shorter shovel, but I wanted a longer handle so I got this one that has the cut out at the top of the shovel and serrated edges.I’m not sure I like that cut out as much as a sharp single point to get the shovel into the ground, but it gets the job done. The shovel head is thick and sturdy, and heavy. I do like that.That being said, the heavy head and the heavy long handle does make this shovel quite heavier than most other shovels I’ve used. If you don’t have a lot of upper body strength, be aware that this will feel like a work out.Overall this is a good quality tool, and I would buy more from this brand.

So easy to use and dig with less effort than usually required. Handles provide a comfortable fit and shovels are at a good height for a shorter person.

Liked the sawtooth bite on shovel head. The foot ridges on the shovel are also a plus. I found the handle too long to get a good purchase and it’s slippery for me and heavier than I expected. As a result I only use it for big digs like removing a dead bush, digging in clay soil, etc.it’s not my routine “go to” shovel, but it’s there for the big jobs.

Bonjour, pelle très solide, j’ai déjà un modèle de ce type, elle est un peu lourde mais s’enfonce très facilement dans le sol sans effort c’est une vrai taupe.

Ich finde diese Schaufel echt super ,sehr robust, handlich und erst diese spitzen Zacken ,hätten 8 wurzelballen von der Erde raus graben müssen ,das hätte gedauert ,dank dieser Schaufel haben wir nicht mal 1 Stunde gebraucht ,die hat seitlich alle Wurzeln durchtrennt, dank dieser Zacken und die restlichen unterhalb ,wo keiner dazu konnte ,mit einer elektrischen kleinen Astschere,ich kann sie nur weiter empfehlen, die ist wirklich der Hammer und Zeitersparent.

This spade was recommended by my 80 year old mother! We have just moved house and the garden hasn’t been tackled for some years. This spade makes light work of digging through the roots, it’s not light to handle but it is so sturdy and I love the circular handle allowing you to pick it up with two hands and drive it into the Earth. Not cheap but Highly recommended.
