HDMI converter used for older sound system
Works great now can listen to my new tv on my older surround sound system… just need to remember to unplug the power to go back to normal tv mode

Couldn't Get It To Work
Great solution in theory, but, unfortunately, no matter what I tried, this item failed to bridge my Samsung TV's audio HDMI and the optical input of my Bose soundbar and have had to retreat to the annoyance and lower quality of Bluetooth. It is gathering dust behind my TV cabinet.

Kudos to that and I'm satisfied so far.
I wanted to connect an external amplifier to my smart TV at home, but I couldn't find a suitable way until I came across this audio extractor. It can perfectly extract the audio from the TV's HDMI signal and transmit it to the amplifier, which has a qualitative improvement in sound quality. The operation interface is simple and easy to understand, and both the elderly and children can use it easily. It takes the family viewing experience to a higher level.

Used With My Soundbar
I was using an optical cable to connect my soundbar to my previous FIOS set-top box. When the FIOS box was upgraded to the new box, there was no port on the box for an optical cable. With this audio extractor, I run an HDMI cable from the FIOS set-top box to the extractor, then run an optical cable from the extractor to the soundbar, and an HDMI cable from the extractor to the TV. Be aware that no power supply is included. I am using a 5V/1.0A cell phone charger for the power.

Definitely worth recommending.
A few days ago, I used it with a projector at home to enjoy the sound effect better. The connection is very stable, there is no delay in audio output, and the effect is exactly what I expected. The sound quality is clear and there is no noise. The sound effect when watching movies is enhanced a lot. The overall experience is very good and it is definitely worth recommending.

I was able to record some things, but instructions were not clear. I was able to figure it out, but it's not very great. Sound quality was mediocre at best. I would not purchase again.

Useless
If your sound system/TV is not compatible with HDMI it won't work. But if it was compatible it would have the rught hookups and you wouldn't need this, so it's useless.
