Blazingly Fast Backup !!
Sandisk Extreme Pro 4TB with USB4 3800 MB/S (larger one) next to Sandisk Extreme Portable 2TB 1050 MB/S SSD. Really nice data transfer rates. A little bit warmer than cool while operational. Buy with confidence

Unreliable on Dell XPS 9640
Purpose: To be able to boot Ubuntu from a fast external drive on a Dell XPS 16 9640 Result: Inconsistently recognized by the latest BIOS on the Dell. Sometimes the Linux installers will see it as a target for installation and other times it will not be available. Summary: For years I have been booting Linux from external drives. I use Kali and Ubuntu and sometimes EndeavourOS. On the Dell XPS 9640 I am using an external USB drive, which works well. I have two of the same drives, one for the install image and one as the target drive for the install, everything works when it comes to installing Linux to the target drive and subsequently booting from the drive. However the Sandisk Extreme Pro 2TB USB4 drive is behaving like the Harry Enfield character Kevin. It decides when it wants to be available as a drive. I have used the supplied cable and a certified TB5 cable. Within Windows 11 Pro and Linux the drive seems to work well. It just does not like being used as a boot device on the Dell. The Dell is from 2024 and the BIOS has been updated as of 10th October 25. If you want to use this drive for booting an OS from it may not be the best option. It is now shelfware.

COUNTERFIT UNIT
DO NOT BUY. My item was a counterfeit. I ordered paying for and expecting a genuine SanDisk Extreme Pro USB4 but the unit i receive is not authentic. Several issues confirm this: No valid serial number. No valid QR code. Performing test show speeds far bellow the real Extreme Pro specifications. It does not appear in macOS under Thunderbolt/USB4 - which a genuine model does. Transfer speed extremely slow, over 3 hours for 500 GB (real one does this in couple minutes).

Not as advertised (Amazon's fault, not SanDisk)
Not as advertised. Yes, this drive is blazing fast, in fact I cannot but say good things about its build quality. BUT, Amazon's description states it has Hardware Encryption. It does not. I bought one in error, and only after SanDisk confirmed that it is not capable of Hardware Encryption, I made a further error and tried to return it to Amazon. Amazon were quick to take payment from me, but refunding the item? 14 days. Apparently, they can't be quicker than that. So be careful what you buy in future, because Amazon will hang on to your money and get as much interest out of it as they can before returning it to you.

Keeps being ejected on Mac.
My second SanDisk Extreme Pro (2Tb & 8TB) seems like a chronic problem with SanDisk and some Samsung models. Prefer Crucial.

Evolving Backwards😭
Well, the product itself is great. Blazingly fast transfer speeds. However, it doesn't support device lock of Sandisk Memory Zone. Just why?

Gayet dayanıklı ve indirim zamanı aldığım için 4tb olanını aldım dosya aktarım hızı çok iyi 3500 mb/s ye yakın hız görüyorsunuz tabi anakartınızda uygun olacak yani usb 4 ü destekleyecek
A**.
A bit bigger than earlier models but probably correlated to components that makes it's transfer velocities so extremely rapid. If time is important it is worth the price.

Flawless, fast and no glitches. Is only one that works endlessly without issues to record my dashcam vids the 2tb wasn't fast enough r/w and would often stall.
