Bishop Alexander's book is well-written, helpful, and an enjoyable read. As a priest in the church, this is a great resource for me to use not only as a refresher for my own personal prayer life but also for a group study on liturgical time. The Daily Office services of Morning and Evening Prayer (not to mention the Noonday and Compline services) are some of the most beautiful, holy parts of the Book of Common Prayer but they can be incredibly complicated for those new to the Anglican tradition. Bishop Alexander's book is a great way to begin to understand not only how to say those offices but why we say the things that we say in the various services. This is great book for someone with theological training or for someone just discovering the liturgical calendar and seasons.

Helpful! Even for a none-liturgical Baptist
There will be sections of this book that appear beyond application for those who minister or attend none-liturgical churches. But the book is incredibly helpful in understanding aspects of Christian faith that most baptist rarely consider. I highly recommend reading this book and applying as much as possible within ones own context of ministry.

This was required for a seminary course--wouldn't buy it otherwise
I felt I could easily get as much or more information from the internet without having to put out $$$ for it. Not very interesting or memorable.

Excellent for broad church Episcopalians
Excellent for broad church Episcopalians. Good for all who follow liturgical time. Liturgy suggestions are sometimes insufficient for Anglo-Catholics or "high-church" Episcopailians. Everyone should read it!
