Garage Door Floor Seal Weather Threshold Draught Excluder - Includes Free Sealant and Easy to Follow Installation Guide (2.5M)

Used this product to help weatherproof my garage as I was getting water ingress under the door after heavy rain and a lot of leaves blowing in when the door was closed. The builders had managed to to leave the garage floor with an uneven slope from left to right, so I had a 10mm gap one end and 15mm at the other. I didn't bother cutting the seal to suit the door opening but made cutouts to so that it fitted around the door frame, as recommended. The sealant was fairly easy to apply using a decent sealant gun and I decided to also drill through the seal and screw it to the garage floor after first drilling and plugging the concrete in 3 places, which has given me extra piece of mind. With hindsight I don't think this was really necessary as the sealant went off very well after 24 hours and seems to have secured the strip really well. I would highly recommend using latex gloves when placing the seal in position as the sealant is very viscous and you will get it on your hands! It is also worth running a bead of sealant on each edge of the strip after installation.After attaching a few lengths of draught excluder strip to the bottom of the garage door it is now pretty much water tight and the draughts have reduced considerably.

I bought this seal because it was complete with black adhesive/sealant and I needed it quickly. I was immediately impressed by the seal's strength and flexibility. The profile is exactly what I wanted so that the garage door closes up to it. It was relatively easy to cut with a Stanley Knife and the excess sealant came off easily with white spirit. It looks good too! The instructions are very clear but here's my tip. After trimming it to fit against the door and extend to the ends of the door frame, I did as per instructions and penciled a line along both sides of the strip. I then cleaned the area of flooring (mine was sealed with PVA and then painted) with white spirit and let it dry. Next I applied the black adhesive to the floor. The instructions advise also sealing the edge so I zig jagged the adhesive on the floor, then ran a bead along the two pencil lines. After putting the strip down and making sure the door closed against it, I cleaned off the excess adhesive with white spirit. The job looks good and the door nestles neatly against it. Great job and it was quick and easy to do!

Good product but make sure your garage floor is level if you live on a hill. Mine isn’t and it only seals one side as a result. It works well though. The adhesive is very sticky and like tar. It doesn’t allow for second attempts and messy

I’m not sure if I’m a bit disappointed with this product, as I expected it to have a hooked lip that would direct water back towards the outside of the garage door as shown in the diagram. Instead this is just a raised lip - it is shown in the actual picture so I guess I should have looked closer before buying. That said, it seems high quality and was easy to trim to size. The adhesive is very messy so take care when applying. As for how it performs it’s job, only time will tell.UPDATE: This product has been down for a while now and it has seen a reasonable amount of rain. So far so good, inside the garage has remained dry. It should also be noted that my garage door has a fairly large gap beneath it so this doesn’t make a seal against the door itself. I have an extra rubber flap that extends downwards from the door to serve this purpose and I still have had no issues with water ingress. Upgraded to 5 stars.

Very happy with my floor seal purchase! The seal was easy to fit as the instruction guide provided was clear and helpful. I had no issues with installing the floor seal myself, the rubber was easy to work with and cut to fit my garage floor, the whole thing took around 30 minutes in total.It perfectly closes the gap left at the bottom of my garage door and so far has protected from water and other dirt leaking into the garage. Seems to be very high quality as described. The sealant included is also good quality and has secured the floor seal effectively.Delivered as described, would 100% recommend to anyone for their garage doors. More than happy, thank you.

I bought this as I was fed up with my garage being full of leaves!We live close to a small wooded area and it just seems that all the fallen leaves want to come and live in my garage!This was simple to fit - lay it out, cut to length with a heavy pair of scissors, lay it back on the floor and check for placement, drawer a pencil line along the edge, turn over and use the supplied mastic like adhesive, and then carefully lay in place. Optionally, bead along the inside and outside edge of rubber strip ( I did do this).The instructions advise you not to drive over it for a while, and I left it overnight to cure.By the next day it was firmly attached to the ground and makes a great seal with the bottom of the garage door!Not only is it doing a fine job at keeping the leaves out, but it is noticeably warmer in the garage too!Have a look at the attached photo for the finished effect - Yep - I really need to tidy it up and clean the floor properly now! :-)A great product!

The door seal strip works very well and has closed the gap between the floor and the garage door nicely. Rain no longer gets in during high winds. The strip is very sturdy and stands up well to the motorbike going over it time and time again. The strip was easy enough to cut though with a sharp blade which made it easy to install into the funny shapes at either end of the garage floor. The adhesive which came with the product worked very well and hasn't moved once this first winter since it's been installed. I did also use the sealant to seal the edges of the strip along the whole length also which I'm hoping will stop dirt and water getting under the strip.

Easily cut to size and to cut out sections to go around nuances of garage door using a Stanley knife. Not run the bike over it much yet, so can't speak to durability, but kept the rain out so far so quite happy, thanks.
