Do I need both the bottle of purple and pink?

Thank you for your question. As long as you use at least 1 bottle per 50 gallons you can select whichever color you wish, you can use all the same color or mix and match. If you use both you will have a total of 12 separate species of coralline algae. If you are looking for an end result of only pink or only purple then choose all the same, if you are looking to achieve the greatest bio-diversity or if your tank is resistant to growing coralline algae then you would want to combine both products. You can not overdose your tank using this product as we do not add calcium or magnesium additives, we use only algae spores and beneficial nitrifying bacteria. Thank you again and happy reefing!

I have a lot of green algae in my tank. If I put this in, will it be able to outcompete existing green algae and take over?

It's takes awhile for coralline algae to start to grow. If you have green algae you have to much nutrients. I'd work on getting rid of the green algae before putting this in.

Is there supposed to be anything pink in the bottle? The liquid was clear, to include the small piece of rock.

No color should be visible. It’s the coralline spores you are after. If conditions are right, it will start to show. I have tried both the purple and pink and have had good luck. Don’t get discouraged mine took about 8 months for me to get my tank under control. Good luck!

Would pink fusion strain or purple helix strain be best for high lighting sps reef tank?

I used a 50/50 mix in my 75 gallon and both are doing well. It is a reef tank so it sees alot of light from 2 Fluval Marine 32 watt leds
