Why is this Parfum bottle designed very differently than the new cylinder shaped one?

Is this parfum same as cologne version but much stronger ? thanks

In short...no. It's a strong, long-lasting perfume that has little in common with the usual (Eau de toilette) version.

Is this the 2012 or 2017 version?

I bought it in 2014... This is the eau de parfum version, which smells nothing like the classic eau de toilette from many decades ago. Very different, but very nice.
