Makita DUX60Z Twin 18V (36V) Li-Ion LXT Brushless Split Shaft - Batteries and Charger Not Included

This and the accompanying heads for it you can also buy separately are really nice. They fit together so nicely even compared to their Stihl counterparts. Good power. It's expensive but it is worth it if you have the Makita batteries already. Used it with a pole saw and two extension bars and it works great.

Makita DUX60Z Brushless Split Shaft Motor Power Head. Bought one of these to try instead of my usual Stihl petrol brushcutter and I was pleasantly surprised to find the makita 2x 18V is every bit as good as the petrol engined equivalent. The Makita has 3 Power settings that you pre-select and then the throttle works only up until that max. power sett so these 3 settings effectively cap the speed and power level in order to prolong battery life but obviously with a correspondingly lower RPM limit at each setting. With the Makita set to the Medium power setting, and fitted with a 9 inch metal brushcutter blade, I can strim tall grass and dense weeds (cow parsley, Docks, Nettles etc) for at least 45 minutes before the 2x 18V 5Ah batteries are flat. If I'm more careful with the throttle control then I can get 60 minutes or so from a charge. The only minor downside is you then have to wait about 70 minutes for the dual charger to re-charge the batteries to 100% - it gets to 80% charge much faster but I forget excatly how long that takes. It's not the end of the world so have a cup of tea whilst the batteries recharge. The fact the shaft splits in two also means it is much easier to transport if you need to use it away from home as it fits easily in the boot of the car. I highly recommend the Makita DUX60Z, so much so that I bought a second one for my wife to use.

I’ve just used this for the first time with a long reach hedge cutting attachment it’s powerful enough to do the job and manage to complete the task with out the need for recharging. It’s quite heavy but the supplied shoulder strap makes light work of it all in all really pleased

Taken a good year of commercial use and done me well but it does eats through the batteries and seems to be struggling this month hopefully that's just the cold. Id recommend for personal use all day long but for commercial purposes I kinda wish there was a petrol option as Im regretting not going with the Stihl multi tool gear for gardening but I'm a bit too heavily invested in Makita now with all the attachments

Having had some Makita power drills (and been impressed) for some time I decided to buy this 'driving unit' and added a strimmer. After using the strimmer (and been incredibly impressed) I have bought another 3 attachments. The batteries last at least 30-40 minutes on pretty heavy use. As an aside I purchased two very cheap substitute non-Makita batteries and they were useless lasting only about 10-15 minutes. Subsequently I purchased a further 2 Makita batteries and remain very impressed with the equipment and attachments.

Powerful, can keep ontop of brush safer than being up a ladder

This machine is just about as powerful as a gasoline one. It can handle seriously overgrown land. Battery life is good on low power setting, maybe an hour, but drops dramatically on higher settings, down to maybe 15 or 20 minutes. You'll probably need a spare set of batteries and a quick charger if you plan to tackle heavier jobs. Makita stuff is always good. Stay with them and you'll get years of good service from products well-made from good materials

Ik heb het artikel geretourneerd omdat de beveiligingskap niet correct bevestigd was, waardoor het niet mogelijk was om de batterijen te plaatsen. Na contact met de helpdesk van Makita werd mij – helaas onterecht – aangeraden om de juiste batterijen en lader apart te bestellen. Bij ontvangst bleek echter dat het om exact dezelfde batterijen en lader ging als degene die ik al in mijn bezit had. Dat was bijzonder frustrerend, en uiteindelijk heb ik beslist om alles terug te sturen.

Outil multifonctions, la qualité Makita pour mon jardin. Tronçonneuse sur perche, débroussailleuse, taille haies sur perche avec allonge un seul moteur pour beaucoup d’applications. Au vu de la qualité de la fabrication je vais en avoir pour de nombreuses années !!!
