Helios 44-2 58mm F2 Russian Lens for Micro 4/3 Panasonic, Olympus

This is a really nice lens for my OMD EM5 Mii. I read a lot of reviews about it before ordering. It arrived from Russia to Michigan in less than 3 weeks. You have to be home to sign for it. At first when I attached it, the screen was black. I figured out that you have to jiggle the lens a little to make sure the pin on the camera goes into the little hole on the lens to activate. Once I figured that out, I was all set. This lens is tack sharp. Mine is in excellent condition. It takes really beautiful images on my OMD. I highly recommend this seller and this lens!

The seller I ordered mine from packaged it in open cell foam with plenty of padding and came with the proper adapter. The glass itself was free of any scratches and everything works like it should. The adapter was metal too and not cheap plastic, which is a nice bonus. it came before the expected delivery date too, about 2 weeks shipping

Great quality for an old lens. I'm using this with a Panasonic G85. Autofocus does not work (I knew that) so make sure you know that before purchasing. Packaging was great...protecting the lens as it was shipped from Russia. Tracking information was not accurate so I had no idea when it was arriving. Other than that, good buy.

Great lens but one of the rings got loose and now focusing is a pain.

Amazing lens! it's build like a tank! but at the same time it's smooth... If you are searching a good quality lens for a low cost, this is the one!! I'm not a "pro"... I do photos for myself... but I can say that this lens is sharp! easy to focus, better for video. a total recommendation on this one! and thinking on buying another to mod it... there are a loot of videos about modding this lens to achieve beautiful photos. STOP READYING!!! GO AND BUY ONE!!!!

After purchasing this lens I learned that this is Helios "type 8 Valdai" - which is constructed at a different time with different parts. Before purchasing I had no idea that there are many versions of this lens. It's still nice and works as intended. But if you're looking at Helios I'd suggest you do some research and maybe look for the version that suits you. Seller is very accommodating and shipping was fast. Item arrived in a nice fitted box with ample padding.

this is a great lens at a nice price. Besides the amazing swirly petzval bokeh its famous for it is also just a really nice sharp fast lens! this one comes with an adapter from m42 screw mount to mft mount for olympus and panasonic but i am ordering a smaller one so i have a choice of focal lengths.

I didn't expect much but I heard that people like that lens. Lens I got came with M42 to M43 adapter but when mounted on a body, it doesn't lock on my camera. I had to buy another adapter from K&F which locks well and I don't have a black screen anymore with this lens mounted. Lens looks old but well maintained with smooth operations and clean glass. Lens is all metal. On weird thing is the aperture ring marks seems reversed so at F16 lens is fully open and on F2 lens is closed. I did not have much time to test it fully so here are just some pictures form today's evening: all pictures shoot on Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III in aperture priority mode, iso 200, profile muted.
