Softens the Grip
Used these as a kid and now as a teacher! They add softness to the grip and are especially appreciated when you use your pens or pencils a lot.

Unusual use
I bought these and cut them in half for my beginning colored pencil art students. They were holding their pencils too near to the point but now they hold them just behind the 1+"grip and it's perfect . I gave each one several of these so they don't have to be constantly changing them. Works great!

Excellent
It is being used with my Apple Pencil and it works flawlessly with a snug fit. Rub a little bit of vaseline around the holding area of the Apple Pencil and gently twist it in -- untwist to charge. This is very easy to do and thus far the integrity of the material has not been compromised.

Doesn't fit standard pencil easily
Unfortunately these don't fit onto standard pencils easily enough to be useful for kids. Bummer because they look cute.

Get writing utensil wet on the end and IF your pencil is skinny, it slides on.
I was ready to send these back because I couldn't get them to go on even over my skinny pencils. Ater much struggle, I was able to scoot one pencil grip on and it was soooo comfortable. Then, I read someone's review and they said that with a bit of water, it would slide right on, I tried that and it did, BUT only on my very skinny mechanical pencils. I needed one on another pencil and after getting it on partway (yes, I tried water) by using pliers (!) I ended up cutting off the part that refused to budge.
