Purchased another popular powered speaker with a three initial name and higher price tag. The wife who has exceptional critical listening skills laughed and commented they sounded like our first generation Sonos. I completely agreed. The sound was thin, tinny with no bass at all. They were quickly boxed up and sent back. No slight against the Sonos, it’s great for its size and price but these were 7x the price! No Bueno The Sevens went on sale for Black Friday and I ordered a pair immediately. I’m a big fan of Klipsch since I first heard a pair of Klipschhorns as a teenager and have a pair of vintage Forte’s in the basement on our two channel stereo and surround system. We wanted something better than the Sonos in the upstairs living room that didn’t take up too much space. These fit the bill although not small by any means and not light either, these are real speakers not toys! They were well packaged and extremely easy to set up. I added a WiiM mini for streaming via the optical input. Like any speaker they take a little time to break in, but immediately they filled the medium size living room with full, rich, alive sound. Highs are high without being harsh, vocals and mids are crisp and lifelike and more than enough bass without a sub for us as they mostly provide background music. Maybe if you like bass heavy music and want a bit more a sub would work but try them first. The finish is beautiful and matches out mid century house. Might not work if you like the modern plastic vacuum sweeper look of modern designs but that’s up for you to decide. I didn’t try any of the other brands at this price point and at the sale price honestly there wasn’t anything close to even look at. Pros: Sound Looks Easy setup Sound Cons: No built in streamer (although I prefer being able to sync WiiM’s across three different systems in the house) Price at retail (although pound for pound they are still a deal. Wait for sales) Looks may not blend well in modern homes I wish the grill fabric was darker to match the heritage full size models.

TLDR: These are excellent, easy 5 stars. The music and TV sounds amazing, no sub required for me. History: I've always owned soundbars and they come with a sub and it is setup to be overpowering bass to distract from the fact that the little speakers are not the best quality. In a bedroom affixed to a wall, the soundbar sounds fine. Usage: This was going in a living room connected to a Frame TV, so I wanted something more classy looking and I went with the walnut to blend better. Setup: They were easy to setup and I connected via HDMI, so my TV will control the volume, so I only have to use the one remote. Some minor adjusting with the Klipsch Connect app was necessary because they come standard with not the best EQ settings. The Dynamic bass boost enabled, raise the mids up 2, bass up 4, treble up 1. It's important to slightly angle the speakers a few degrees, so the sound will cross a few feet from the end of the room. The cables make it so the speakers are a couple inches away from the wall, which is necessary because there are air exhaust vents on the back. The Result: These are really amazing. They were 800 and worth every penny. I'm actually extremely blown away. Better than any sound bar. On low volume they're crisp, and high volume booming with my settings. I was going to get a sub, but the 6.5" subs are more than sufficient. These are the best speakers I've ever owned. They're sleek and classy looking and sound amazing. Extremely plug and play friendly with only a few minutes fiddling with the app.

Well... These were my all-time favorite speakers I had ever owned, and by a wide margin. Sound was absolutely incredible, dare I even say perfect. But, unfortunately, just like many other reviews I've been noticing as of recent, these speakers were poorly designed using extremely low quality components and they have a tendency to die. That's just what happened to me today... Several weeks ago I noticed a static-laced "clicking" sound that would go on for about ten seconds before the system started up. As the days went on, it would go on for longer and longer. Eventually it would take anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes just for the system to start up and get any audio output from it whatsoever. Then came today... Cables were replaced, various inputs tested, app updates, etc. and nada, nothing, DOA... Three hours of trouble-shooting and it's safe to say they just completely gave up the ghost. And, most conveniently, being that I'm out of warranty, they basically told me I'm SOL and offered to SELL me a replacement amplifier board. Yeah, no thanks. I'm extremely disgusted at the moment and will never, ever, under any circumstance buy another Klipsch product for the rest of my life, passive, active, whatever. I'm done with Klipsch. It's clearly no longer the great American company that it once was, but then again, what really even is still in this day and age? Look elsewhere for quality audio products, and (as much as I loved and had a strong preference for active systems) buy passive speakers and separates, it will serve you better in the long haul.

The speakers sound great, what else can I say that hasn't been said already. The delivery experience was thankfully uneventful, and the product was effectively secured for transportation. The sound is crisp and bright without sounding tinny; there is a clear delineation between highs and mids, and while the bass isn't overwhelming, is provides for a fuller sound than I've experienced with smaller speakers. The sub line-out signal is phenomenal, pushing an older JBL powered woofer harder than my old Yamaha receiver could, and at not very high volumes; substantive bass without having to push the mid-ends into uncomfortable auditory ranges. The only thing I would consider a possible point of caution is that the speaker with all the electronics (DAC, power supply, etc.) gets very hot after prolonged use - think 3 to 4 hours - and there is no heatsink attached to the back of the unit to aid in heat dissipation. High heat and complex circuitry are not constructive bedfellows and the long-term health of the unit is something to take into account. Otherwise a fantastic purchase and shopping experience that I would have no reservations about recommending or utilizing again.
