So I used this on a surface pro connecting it to the USB type-c port. The item size isn't too bad. I'd have liked the cord on the connector to have been of a better quality. By this I mean a more flexible/durable material.First thought. The USB ports didn't initially work, don't ask me why as it's a plug and play device. Came back to try again an hour later and the device decided to play. Has been fine since then.So if you have a surface pro you'll know there's a singular usb port. Having an additional 3 is a godsend. I'll be honest when I'm not on the move I'll plug in a proper keyboard and mouse. You've still got the touchscreen capability.So I really bought this to extend my display estate. It has connections for both VGA and HDMI monitors. The device allowed me to extend my screen by 1 additional display rather than 2. If you connect to both VGA and HDMI it merely shows the added 2nd screen in a mirrored format.It's not exactly what I thought it would be however, this being said, I'm happy I bought it.

Writing this review to alert owners of laptops with a USB C port that is 3.2 Generation 1 (e.g. Acer Aspire 5) that the video ports on this hub are unlikely to work. A laptop needs a Generation 2 port. I wish the USB committee that decides on standards could have come up with a less confusing naming system! Check your spec before ordering.

I was using this to move a bunch of large files between 4TB drives and was disappointed to find out that if I added or removed a 3rd drive, the unit would cut power for a split second to all drives causing the copy operation to abort (on both Mac and pc). Very annoying when your copy task takes 24+hrs and you have to start again.

I use this to hold a few SD Cards/USB drives and also to transfer from mobile to PC. It does exactly as it says, but I never used the display ports since every mobile I've had doesn't support them, so I can't comment on the picture quality.

This works with my Note 9, MacBook Pro, and Surface Go on the DVI and HDMI. I haven't needed to use the VGA port, and doubt I will, but I wanted a small adapter that also had USB so chose this one. Does what I need, does it well, and it's a very good price. Build quality is sturdy so should cope with use around the home and office. My only criticism is that the lead could be a tiny bit longer so that it has a bit more range to sit flat when it's plugged in to something where the USB C port isn't flat against the desk.

I liked the aluminum casing with short cable (type-C). It gives a feel of quality material used. It has 3x USB 3.0 slots, 1x HDMI output and 1x VGA output.I found the connections quite stiff/tight... but that's because it's brand new. I'd rather have a tight connection port, than a loose connection port.I found this a perfect companion to the new MBP laptop which only has USB-Type C connector. Extremely useful when needing to output to a projector or big TV display.Based on the built quality and the output connectors available, i would recommend this for (new) MBP laptop owners.

I have 2 monitors one with VGA and Other HDMI so hoped this adaptor would take both monitors and just plug in USB. Whilst you can do that the monitors could only duplicate each other rather than independent displays. I got round it by just leaving one plugged in VGA and other monitor direct to Laptops HDMI. The bonus 3 USB sockets on adapter worked well. Not quite a cheap laptop docking station solution I hoped but good enough.

I waited a while to write a review so I could be sure it worked properly. The first one the seller sent did not work , there was a short in the lead... I emailed the seller who sent a replacement straight away. item arrived within a few days. Unpacked item connected one end to my MAC. connected the HDMI to the item and into my Mac Pro 2019 . I can now view my work on a larger screen . works perfectly.
