This stuff is amazing. I am in my 40’s now and heard of a thing called nonenal. I didn’t know this existed and it freaked me out. If you don’t know what nonenal is, it’s basically just “old person” smell. We all know that smell. Just think of your grandparents house when you first walk in after not being there in a while. Apparently, nonenal is oils that oxidize and can’t be removed by normal soap. At least that’s my understanding and since it doesn’t get broken down it transfers to clothing, furniture, etc. Anything our bodies come into contact with. Now, we all know that we are the last ones able to smell our own funk but everyone around us can smell it just fine. And what I read it says that nonenal starts in your 40’s. See why I was freaked out now? But I am also going through perimenopause and am paranoid that I smell different because of the hormonal shift. This soap is supposed to be able to break down the greases that cause “old person” smell and also help deodorize hormonal smell too. So I thought I would give it a try. They show you the areas of your body where the smells come from. One of which is behind the ears and back of the neck. I would have never guessed that those areas caused the smell. But I think it’s fair to say that we all know how behind the ears can get real funky if they aren’t washed regularly. Now get ready because I am going to get slightly gross for a minute. I rubbed my finger behind both my ears and smelled and yeah, it wasn’t great, even though I just washed that morning. So I gave the soap a shot and in particular focused on behind the ears. The result were pretty remarkable. I washed behind my ears on day one and then didn’t do it again for 3 days. Constantly smelling that area each day. The smell stayed gone for 2 days and by about the 3rd day it was starting to become slightly noticeable. That made me a believer. So I started using it in all the places the nonenal is at. I start by washing my entire body with regular soap and then at the end of my shower I use this soap in all the places they teach you that nonenal shows up. I have to say that I feel much more confident about how I smell after using it. No one wants to go through hormonal changes but we all have to. At least now we can be more comfortable in our skin while we go through it. I know it’s very expensive for a soap. But it is worth it. And if you only use it on the parts of the body that the nonenal smell comes from you won’t have to buy it again for a couple of months. Lastly, you need to be aware of the many knock offs that are out there. Be careful not to buy a soap that claims to do the same thing for a cheaper price. As far as I know, this is the only brand sold in the U.S. that actually has the ingredients in it that helps with the smell. So only buy this brand and even then be careful that you aren’t being sold a bootleg. It needs to come from Mirai. Even here on Amazon, you need to make sure you buy it from the Mirai store. It would really suck to pay this much for a soap that never worked. All that being said, I know I am not going to be without it, but that’s just me. Hope this long winded review helps.

I use this soap because I'm 69 years old I am still working with the public, I am in good health and people tell me I don't look my age. However, I hear the stories about people after 40 getting that old people smell with nonenal and I certainly do not want to get that so I use it just to be on the safe side. It smells pleasant and lathers well.

Have been using for about a week. Usual soap is Dove sensitive unscented and had been noticing musty smell, especially of armpits, for a really long time. This eliminated it immediately. I was shocked. It lathers pretty well and rinses so easily. I did purchase a suction soap holder and stuck it up high in the shower. Soap is expensive enough I don’t want it rinsing away while I’m washing hair, etc, and this keeps it from just dissolving. Also use a pouf instead of a washcloth and I think that helps it go further. I’m also an endurance athlete and it eliminates ALL odor, not just the old person smell I’m starting to develop! I’m impressed and if it works I’ll gladly pay for it.

Nice and sudsy w/o strong perfume-y smell. Yet quite expensive for such a small bar of soap—but I’ll continue using it as haven’t had any bad reactions on my skin.

I love this soap. Not only does it take care of any smell issues, I find it helps my very dry skin. Perhaps it is the tannins in it, but it was a pleasant surprise to find my very fragile skin becoming stronger and more able to hold moisture again.

I choose this soap brand over the store brand that I had been using (I don't have an odor problem) but I have a very sensitive system and prefer to use all natural products, I feel it cleans very well but is a little bit to drying for me. I like the fact that it doesn't contain harsh chemicals like 99% of the skin-care products that I have used, which cause me to experience inflammation or allergic symptoms. So, I feel if I use this soap sparingly, I will probably be okay with it. But the verdict is out on if I will purchase it again.

It is a solid bar of soap and takes a bit of time to produce a lather. Overall I really like the outcome of the soap, I felt clean and it did not bother my sensitive skin. Don’t know if it has changed my odor since I don’t smell myself and nobody has mentioned that I have an offensive odor - and trust me my friends would tell me :-D

I was sceptical but this soap is amazing. Great lather that gives me back the moisture in my skin. I’m 76 and I have been using lotions and creams but nothing worked until this wonderful product. I would definitely bye a reputable brand to ensure you are getting the true persimmon in it. Best thing I’ve bought in a long time

Expensive but it produced the result, no more nasty smell!! I am 80 and had never heard of NONENAL

Nice soap, lathers well, leaves you squeaky clean and is scent free. BUT, it only lasted me two weeks and that is only having one shower a day. I cannot justify paying £20 for a bar of soap every two weeks. Nice product, but far too expensive. I shall be trying the cheaper brands next.

Not worth the money. Very small size and no difference noted. I have used pears soap and palmolive green original soap and they work better. I won't purchase again.

I wasn't completely sure that the odour I was getting was due to 2-nonenal compound but thought I'd give this scent-free soap a try because nothing else was working. After one use I noticed a massive reduction in nonenal odour which disappeared completely after the second use. My only reason for not giving this item 5* is the price but as I only use the soap on one specific area it will last me quite a long time, I expect. This product is fantastic and I will definitely buy it again.

I ordered this particular brand by accident. I meant to order the 3 bars by Japanese makers. However, considering the huge price and the fact that it was backed by the Dragons Den, I decided it must be worth it so started to use it. Bear in mind, I am a little paranoid about becoming a ''smelly old lady'' but my grown up grand daughters have always said that is most certainly not the case. Not until I used this overpriced soap. I didn't like the smell and the next time I saw my grand daughters, they felt they had to comment on. the funny smell. It was the damn soap that smelt awful. Needless to say that was a waste of an awful lot of money
