Fun and surprisingly easy
This was my first Rolife model, and the first model of this kind that I've made. I was worried that it would be like the wood models I used to occasionally attempt as a kid, with brittle pieces that would snap at the least provocation.Happily, all but one sheet of pieces are made of a sturdy layered particle board-type stuff that holds up well to being punched out and clicked into place. I only broke one piece, and it was a minor, non-visible break which happened because I was using the wrong piece in the wrong spot. That wasn't entirely my fault because the numbers on the larger of the two green foliage sheets were extremely difficult to read - bright lighting and possibly a magnifying glass would help a lot.I was pleasantly surprised by the effort the designers put into making the tree look natural and three dimensional. I thought that it was going to be more or less flat layers, but some ingenious methods were used to pop some branches out and vary the angles of the clusters of foliage. The instructions were large, well-illustrated, and clear. I'd give this kit as a gift, and I'll certainly buy other Rolife models after seeing the care that went into this one. It would be fun to have other kits like the bonzai with a Ming or Qing dynasty scholar's study theme.

LOVE LOVE LOVE and it is properly balanced!
I was worried that this would be too side heavy and very tippy. I was very glad to find that it was properly balanced.Do be careful when you pop out all the pieces. I chipped a few when pushing the pieces out. Thankfully only one of the bad pops shows. Normally you might grab some of the sheet you are popping it out of but in once case I chipped off a part of a leafy bit and sadly it wasn't one of the bits that got hidden.Instructions were easy to follow but some of the pieces are difficult to push together and require more force than you would expect. Your kit will look best if you lightly sand or trim off all the connection points after you punch out the pieces.Price is pretty decent and right on par with other similar items of this style and size.

Cute
Got this as a gift for a friend of mine who has been wanting to get into a hobby but didn't know what they wanted to do. They have also showed interest in bonsai recently and they absolutely loved this kit! Easy to assemble and with such a beautiful piece once assembled.

So great I got two
I really love the Rowood/Rolife/Robotime botanical wooden puzzles. This one is great because it's a good size for a doll prop as well as being a nice display piece for your shelf. It's too small to be a real-life bonsai, but it's the right size for an American Girl bonsai or a Barbie houseplant. Do be careful assembling it, as the spindlier branches can snap if you push on them too hard.
