Kitty City is NOT “just another cat food bowl”
When I saw these Kitty City raised food bowls, I did something I NEVER do - I ordered TWO sets of something without trying it first. They just have a look about them that says: well-designed, well-made - and healthier for your cat. When I received them, I was actually shocked! They EXCEEDED my expectations! They hold a can of Friskies perfectly, and there is almost no mess. But here’s the part that astounded me: it says they’re dishwasher-safe, but I’m the dishwasher in my house, so after my cat’s first meal I did the routine thing - I put the bowl in the sink to soak before washing, and when I came back 20 minutes later I picked up the bowl and poured out the water - and virtually EVERY bit of food rinsed out! The one or two little specks that were left LIFTED RIGHT OFF the surface when I touched them with my fingertip. I gave it a final rinse with hot water - no soap; no scrubbing - and there I was, holding a clean bowl. I’m not kidding you; it IS that easy. (Yeah, every once in a while I throw in a little detergent to knock off any stray microbes that might have wandered in, but I really don’t think it’s necessary.) Just put some hot water in the bowl, give it 15 minutes, then a final rinse under running water and maybe a light swipe with a paper towel. That’s it. Really. Truly. Clean. Now what I want is a bowl for ME that I don’t have to wash.....(maybe I could just borrow hers for a light snack - a little chicken salad maybe? Or some deviled ham on toast points?) Do you think that - ᴍᴀʏʙᴇ - she might let me share her bowl?? 😗 👀 All kidding aside, I would give these Kitty City bowls SIX stars if I could. Maybe the material they’re made of ISN’T revolutionary; maybe the technology has been out there for years and I just haven’t noticed. (I don’t get around much.) But that’s beside the point. These bowls are beautiful, to the eye and to the touch. And they make eating a healthier experience for your cat. So look at them again - and if you love 💕 your cat, buy a set. Buy two. That’s what I did - and I only have one cat. But I noticed today that they have a set in pastels now, and they’re gorgeous..... so I’m gonna buy a set. Do I really need six bowls for my one cat?....Maybe not....but maybe I can use a couple of them to display art objects. Maybe I can display a couple of them AS art objects.... I would add a picture if I could, but my lap seems to be inhabited at the moment, and that imposes certain limits....maybe I can add one later. I didn’t know I would be revisiting this site today, but I’m glad I finally got back here. I bought my Kitty City bowls in January, about ten months ago, and I knew in the first week that I had to come back here and write a review for one of the BEST PRODUCTS I’ve ever seen. Of any kind. I’m sorry I took so long to write this. But I’m glad I’m here now, so that I can wholeheartedly, without reservations, recommend to you a product that I believe to be perfect in what it strives to do. I cannot think of any aspect that needs improvement. You might think that spending an hour to write a review about the bowl that I use to feed my cat is a somewhat trivial way to spend my time. I would not agree. In these days of cost-cutting mass-produced ecology-destroying poorly-made disposable trash, we all have a duty to stand up and shout when we find a product - ANY product - that does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and is also aesthetically pleasing. I’m hoping that Amazon won’t yank this review. They had to pull a couple of mine in the last four years when I wandered off the beaten path, offering my opinions in areas that didn’t strictly conform to product review, and I can understand that. I do tend to wax enthusiastic when I find a product that is so far above what is usually considered “good enough “. Even if Amazon decides that I goofed AGAIN and pulls this review, I will not regret writing it - maybe the editor who yanks it has a cat or two..... Library Cat 12/6/19

Good bowls and can't beat the price
My cat is around 9 years old now and seems to have a bit of a sensitive tummy lately. I've heard about how elevated food bowls can help with digestion so I found these, and I really don't have any complaints. They are a bit small and I have to fill them more often, but I don't mind. Outside of that they are sturdy, easy to clean, and are elevated enough to not make my cat stoop down anymore to eat. In combination we did get him a sensitive stomach cat food and he doesn't have any more issues with throwing up. Works for us!

Handy for treats and snacks
These dishes are handy to have around. I use them mostly for broth-type treats for the cats. They are too shallow to be water dishes, but they are good for kibble. I have 2 sets.... I keep one set upstairs for small feedings that I do first thing in the morning, so the cats leave me alone while I'm getting ready (snack time). The other set is downstairs for their evening treat (broth, shredded chicken, tuna, etc). These would not be something I'd use for the main feeding dish but they could be good as a travel feeding dish. They are lightweight and sturdy plastic, so I can't see these breaking, and they could pack in a travel bag without having to worry about breakage. They are also very easy to clean. I don't know if they can go in the dishwasher.... I only wash them by hand,

Lovely Bowls
These bowls are great and feel very well thought out. I got them mainly because they’re elevated to help with whisker fatigue, and my cat definitely seems more comfortable using them. The wider, oval shape makes a big difference too. Food doesn’t get pushed to the sides as much, and my cat can actually reach everything without making a mess. I also really like that they’re plastic. They’re lightweight and super easy to clean, and food doesn’t get stuck the way it does with some other bowls. Being able to throw them in the dishwasher is a huge plus and makes cleanup really simple. They’re sturdy, don’t slide around, and I love the clean, modern look of the white and gray. Overall, these feel like a small upgrade that actually makes a noticeable difference. I’m really happy with them and would definitely buy them again.

Have been helpful
I got these to see if it would help with keeping my cats from getting sick so often. It has seemed to help with that, thankfully. I have been using these for quite some time now, just to be able to give a thorough review, They are super easy to clean, either washing by hand or putting in the dishwasher. If you feed your babies canned food, I'm sure you've had to deal with some residual crusty bits left over getting stuck to the bowls. If that happens with these, I've found that letting them soak for just a couple of minutes in warm water, the bits come right off. No need to scrape and scrub. I don't know about you, but the less time I have to spend with the scrubbing of dishes, the better!! I find that the bowls will hold plenty of food, either dry kibble, or canned. I do not leave the canned food down for free feeding, as my babies would gorge themselves if I did. These bowls seem to have helped with them being sick so often. I do like that they are raised bowls. I have found that someone new to feeding with these bowls kind of have a tendency to put the food in the wrong side. But, I do not have anyone else feeding my babies very often so it's not been a big deal, just something I have noticed over time. I was afraid that my cats wouldn't care for the new bowls, but they all seemed to adapt very quickly. I do have a couple that are very picky, but they took to the raised bowls with no fuss, thankfully. I've been happy with the results from using these bowls, and I think others would too. Hope it helps! Be well

Beware of Cat Acne from Plastic Bowls
Bought for my cat and kitten, a few days ago — and bought another set, moments ago. Less than $10 for two plastic bowls, which, are super easy to clean and my cats can get all the food out of ‘em (it takes a little effort to get the corner-type areas; though, they prevent my kitten from making a huge mess. They’re both able to still lick the bowls clean). My only gripe is I’d prefer to be able to choose and receive one color, of two bowls — vs. a gray and white combo. EDIT: So, I have noticed my kitten has developed cat acne — which, can be caused by eating out of plastic bowls. I have been using Dawn dish soap and ACV, to help his little chin — and it seems to be working, so far. I have had to make sure that ANYTIME they use these bowls — they are washed with the hottest of water my sink will provide, and Dawn dish soap, first. This is a bit of a bummer, because these bowls have been great, otherwise. I will continue to use ‘em, for the time being, as long as my kitten’s acne stays under control. However, anyone who does purchase these, please be aware in how cat acne can develop as result of using plastic bowls, vs. ceramic or stainless steel (though, I am not a fan of stainless steel, in the summer — as my mother’s cat go sick, once, from the bowl getting too warm and her food going bad, by the time she went back to finish eating it, a bit later).

Lightweight but eminently perfect for our very Senior cat.
OUr 19 y.o cat has several difficulties, and one was eating from a bowl/plate. We experimented with different foods and dish heights. We purchased 2 of these bowls, and they have turned out to be just the perfect item for our ill feline. The bowl has a tilt on the top rim so there is a low side and a high side, perfect for cats to push the foot to the rear without it spilling over, while the near-side is low enough not to encroach upon a cat's throat. Well thought out, folks! The only observation we note is that occasionally our (much) larger cats end up pushing the bowl all over the bloody place. A weighted bottom would perhaps alleviate this issue. The material cleans very easily, simply rinsing away and drying the dish is all that is required (we wash them every couple days by hand). We have not tried them out in the dishwasher yet, however this is not an important issue to us. 5/5☼. Affordable. Simply. Great Design. Highly recommend. NOTE: personally, I would prepare to adapt some kind of weight/velcro for bottom of bowl if you have the kind of cat that pushes bowls/dishes around.

Brilliant bowls!
Esmeralda loves these bowls. Being an elegant Seal Point Siamese with long legs this bowl has meant she can eat more easily. I wish we’d found these years ago! Now she has heart disease she eats smaller amounts, more often through the day so the easy washing of these bowls is appreciated. First time in years I’ve seen her ‘clean her plate’. A really well thought out, simple product.
