I had this thermometer as a backup to my bluetooth-enabled thermometer. Of all days, on Thanksgiving, my bluetooth thermometer went out when the batteries corroded. I pulled out this thermometer and opened/installed the batteries. It came on and synced up instantly. Not more than 3 minutes of use, the base station (which is inside the house), went out. I could not power it back on. I opened the battery panel, and the batteries were very hot to the touch. I replaced the batteries, and the base unit would still not come on.At least the remote unit works. I'll have to keep track of it in the garage (where I have my roaster while it cooks my turkey). I know...first-world problems to have to walk to the garage and check the temperature.Nonetheless, I am disappointed with this product after 3 minutes of use.

I purchased this item in July. It worked great from the start, but after about 5 uses, both temp probes do not measure the same temp. There is a 10-15 degree temp difference. I can put both in their own glass of ice water and they will not read the same. It is very frustrating. I will contact he seller to see if a replacement can be issued since I am outside the return window.

What a fantastic gadget! No longer do you have to check whatever it is your cooking for doneness. You can now roast a chicken (or whatever) while sitting with a cocktail in your hand relaxing!

Worked perfectly and nice to set your desired temp and have a alarm go off when it's hit instead of have to read the digital read out on our Pit Boss Pellet Grill.
