Sega PP4549SE Android Smartphone Controller

Super easy to pair and connect, this saturn inspired controller is a great idea, has a fair price tag and a smartphone support. However I am extremely disappointed by this product. The d-pad is awful and irresponsible. Its just too hard and unless you press with more pressure the control does not react. I was very anxious to put my hands on this product but now I'm considering to return as I can't properly play my emulators using this controller and will definitely invest in a 8bitdo.

Very nostalgic theme, works great with final fantasy 7 and 9. Android versions. Have not tried with emulation but I'm sure it will be OK.

Just ok. The battery part bust instantly and I have to put cardboard to hold it in. But it plays games although a bit slow and chugy. I bought another controller and the new one I have is a lot better. Only giving it 3 stars as it looks good...

Looks really nice but all the buttons and d pad feel super cheap. I couldn't even get chance to try it as the little screw holding the battery cover (why even have this on?) Is made from such cheap metal that it just wouldn't open and now the screw is stuck.

I went into this purchase with my eyes wide open, fully aware of the reported unresponsive and clunky D-Pad but I really wanted a Sega controller to work with my Android Sega Forever collection so decided to buy it at the much reduced £10 asking price. In preparation I also purchased a set of replacement Sega Saturn conductive pads for £5 including delivery. On receipt of the controller I found all the negative reviews to be accurate and at best this feels like a toy controller with poor response on the clunky D-Pad and dead feeling buttons (especially X,Y,Z) compounded by the less than acceptable Bluetooth lag. However, I thought I'll try to upgrade the pads with the better quality ones I ordered anyway. I was able to swap out the button conductive pads for the new one with a little modification but the D-Pad conductive pads were incompatible. After the upgrade the buttons were noticeably better in both feel and response but the clunky d-pad required excessive pressure on both the right and to a lesser extent up directions. As this was mainly due to the poor travel of the D-Pad I added small strips of pvc electricians tape between the D-Pad rocker and conductive pads to act as packing shims. The right direction needed 4 tape shims and the up direction two. The controller now works in a basic functioning sense and even though everything is playable and fairly responsive, it's really no fun to play and will give you an aching thumb due to the increased pressure you need to use when playing for extended periods. I'd only buy this if you want to use the Bluetooth PCB to mod another Android controller as a project, otherwise avoid and save yourself the disappointment (and a tenner). Incidentally, there's currently a problem with restoring purchases on seven out of the twenty one available Sega Forever titles and I'm still waiting for Sega Mobile Gaming to get back to me, so buyer beware.

This controller sucks!! I had high hopes but what a let down. Went to put aa batteries in and then do up the battery cover however the screw just keeps turning without getting tight, controls don't work for games like comix zone honestly this controller is terrible. I'm not 100% sure it was even new out of the box

Très bonne manette acheté pour la shield fonctionne impeccablement

eine Richtung beim Steuerkreuz ging nur mit sehr festem Druck - so leider unspielbar. Benötigt Batterien - kein Akku verbaut - daher eher etwas teuer m.E. Schade - ging wieder zurück Die SEGA Spiele aus dem Play Store wären damit natürlich der Hit gewesen zu spielen.

Très déçu,la manette ne fonctionne pas avec mon smartphone SAMSUNG GALAXY A7,pourtant celui-ci l'a bien trouvé en bluetooth,je ne comprends pas.Quelqu'un peut-il m'aider,merci.

Buena calidad, buen tacto. Muy muy muy parecido al de Sega Saturn. Tiene tres problemas y le quito una estrella por cada uno de esos problemas. 1 - Funciona con dos pilas en lugar de batería. 2 - El compartimento de las pilas funciona con un tornillo (cuyo destornillador no viene). Es un problemón tener que cambiar las pilas. 3 - El soporte que coge el móvil no es extenisble por ambos lados, solo por uno. Por tanto el móvil no queda centrado.
