If you want something with good storage and is reasonably fast and economical then this is a great buy. Its not going to compete with SSDs for speed but with the equivalent SSD storage costing around £259 this provides excellent storage at a fraction of the cost. I now have about 7 SSDs stored in various computers/laptops for speed and I use this for storage on a desktop. Cant fault it.Read speed 149MBs and Write speed 155MBs for those interested

I'm glad amazon asks specifically about this item's thickness, it's exactly the quality I bought it for. It precisely matches the thickness of the hard drive bay in my computer case. If the thickness had been wrong it would have been loose, or tight. Or simply not fit in at all. It would have been useless. The width and length were exactly as they should be too. In all, a very satisfactory thick hard drive!

Works perfectly with my OWC Mercury Elite Pro enclosure. I spent a lot of time researching what HDD to buy and settled on Toshiba after having read about their technical similiraities with Hitachi drives. People who use tons of external drives in their servers swear by Toshiba in terms of durability and quiet performance, both the things that I looked for in mine. This is a very quiet HDD and the sound that you can just about hear is far from intrusive. (No clank and rattle ever happens). Still, it's there, so if you want something totally quiet you'll have to go for a 5400rpm version. If you are looking for a HDD to use with your media player and you demand dead quiet performance don't go with this product but choose WD Red because there will be some background noise that might annoy you after a while. Otherwise, go for Toshiba it's very fast and efficient.

At the moment I have only had the Drive up and running since around mid January so it's early days. My initial impressions commenced with the fact that the Drive arrived in it's own Toshiba box properely suspended inside with polyfoam inserts complete with paperwork - I can't ever recall receiving a Drive before in it's own manufactures box - that alone was very impressive!To start with I put the drive in a remote USB 3 Caddy to check it out. Putting my ear against the caddy case to listen for any dubious sounds I was very surprised at just how fast the drive spun up albeit very quietly. Using EaseUS Free Partition Master it was very quickly partitioned into the 4 partitions it was replacing on an older drive. I couldn't be bothered with all that Data Transfer speed testing stuff so let it suffice to say that it seems plenty fast enough to me.So far Great Drive

I love this HDD. I think I won't need a SSD because it is extremely fast. I know SSD is faster but it is not a problem for me because everything I do it takes nothing to do it. Worth the money!

It's massive.Huge, enormous, humungus.Installing it does require a little experience inside of a pc tower/casing. More so if you are improvising.I wanted to upload a photo of it shoved into my pc but the file size was too large.Irony can be pretty ironic.

well i have had several of these drives and slowly they are all failing with only light use as storage back up drivesgets very hot and started clicking just out of warrantyseems to be the norm for these drivesso had three fail in just over 2 years with only 1 year powered on time on each drivecrystal disk info says it allwon't buy Toshiba drives ever again

I have bought 3 of these drives over the last few years I went with the red branded Toshiba drives for their price performance and reviews that said they were reliable,I would agree with those reviews, I have a drive bay in my PC so I can add an extra drive I added one of these I think 3 years ago,When I had filled it I removed it and added another.

Ich habe die Toshiba P300 3 TB Festplatte vor einigen Monaten gekauft und bin äußerst zufrieden damit. Die Installation war einfach und die Festplatte funktioniert einwandfrei.Die Speicherkapazität von 3 TB ist mehr als ausreichend für meine Bedürfnisse. Ich nutze die Festplatte hauptsächlich zur Speicherung von großen Mediendateien wie Videos, Musik und Fotos. Bisher hatte ich keinerlei Probleme mit der Speicherkapazität oder der Leistung der Festplatte.Was mir besonders gefällt, ist die Zuverlässigkeit der Toshiba P300. Ich hatte noch keine Datenverluste oder Ausfälle erlebt, obwohl ich die Festplatte regelmäßig nutze und oft große Datenmengen übertrage. Die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit ist ebenfalls beeindruckend. Sowohl das Kopieren als auch das Lesen von Dateien geht schnell und reibungslos vonstatten.Die Festplatte ist zudem sehr leise und bleibt auch bei längeren Betriebszeiten kühl. Das ist ein großer Vorteil, da ich die Festplatte oft über längere Zeiträume hinweg in Betrieb habe.Das Design der Festplatte ist schlicht und unauffällig, was mir persönlich gut gefällt. Sie passt gut zu meinem Computer-Setup und nimmt nicht viel Platz ein.Insgesamt kann ich die Toshiba P300 3 TB Festplatte sehr empfehlen. Conoscevo già questo ottimo harddisk da varie recensioni di siti specializzati in informatica e review online...Purtroppo però sfortuna vuole che me ne sia arrivato uno difettoso (sono abbastanza certa che sia stato maneggiato male durante il trasporto -disgraziatamente non è la prima volta che amazon logistic mi fa uno scherzetto del genere) anche perché un mio amico ha lo stesso, sempre ordinato su amazon dallo stesso venditore ed è perfetto. Velocissimo e silenziosissimo come qualità prezzo decisamente superiore ai blasonati Western Digital (migliori persino del modello Caviar Black basta controllare le prestazioni su siti specialistici) e ovviamente dei Seagate.Consiglio assolutamente prodotto e venditore, il rimborso in questo caso è stato velocissimo e sono davvero dispiaciuta della sfortuna che mi sia capitata, ma ricomprerò sicuramente.Agli acquirenti consiglio di non farsi scoraggiare dalla mia esperienza, probabilemnte sono solo un caso limite su 100, e di provare l'hdd non appena arrivato con software apposito e vedere da sè le ottime prestazioni che raggiunge in lettura e scrittura.
