Balanced sound and deep bass on a budget 💪
Okay, so this thing is like a direct jab at the JBL Xtreme 4. It's the same shape and approximately the same size. Sure, "Lava" is a bit of an odd name, but it's a lot cheaper than the JBL and offers better performance in some ways, so I would recommend this speaker for just about anyone. The sound is really pleasant straight out of the box, and it gets pretty loud without too much sacrifice to the quality. The bass digs deep, much deeper than the JBL Xtreme 4. They aren't lying when they say it goes down to 43hz. It is impressive for its size. Nice thing is it isn't over boosted by default, but you can get it to bump like crazy by using the Tribit app to create a custom EQ.The build quality is decent, not the most premium feeling out there but it will definitely hold up to its waterproof claim. It's obvious they cut costs here to keep the price so aggresively low, but I think with reasonable use it will stand the test of time. Just don't use it as a football. Its nice having the options of putting on the strap or the handle or no carrying assist at all.I haven't ran the battery down much yet but it seems to hold up easily to several hours of listening. One nuisance is that at really low volumes the sound is a bit "crunchy", it seems like they may have cut costs partly by using a cheap amplifier. It sounds perfectly clean at more normal volumes, though.

It brings the bass. You can customize this speaker to your likings.I got two and created a stereo wall of sound.Love that this is light to carry around. This is a great speaker with acoustics that are fun and checks all the boxes...Crisp highs, mids are clear and the bass rumbles. This speaker is long lasting with a great battery life of 24 hours.Great for parties and room filling sound. You won't be disappointed.

Ok, let me start by saying I'm a Tribit fan... As you can see I have multiple of their speakers, as well as the smaller one that clamps on to bicycle handle bars. I had high hopes for this new Lava model... and it does sound good, but not really sure where it fits within the Tribit lineup. I have a few problems/issues with it so far. Depending on how you have the EQ set up, you can bottom out the bass drivers pretty easily. Another issue with this is that compared to Soundbox Pro (rubber handle) it does sound better but not substantially better to justify the size/weight difference....the size is significantly larger and I think the Soundbox Pro is does a better job staying composed and doesn't distort as much as the Lava at higher levels, but again lacks the deeper bass of the Lava. The Pro is by far the more easily transported, and carrying in backpack is way more convenient because of size and weight. The Pro is around $90, and I got the Lava for $90 (but typically it's around $110) during the presale. So not really sure where Tribit intended for the Lava to fit in their lineup. The Blast obviously is used for when you want the loudest, deepest bass, the Pro when you want portable with good sound, the Lava...? I guess, when you want a little more bass than the Pro, but don't mind carrying around a substantially larger and heavier speaker? Remember, with the Lava, you have to be cognizant of your EQ settings because the bass can bottom out easily; I just wish Tribit would have put higher quality bass drivers to handle the deeper/heavier notes, and this would def be 5 stars for me. Overall a good sounding speaker with nice app functionality, which can finely tunenthe speaker's sound in the app, but just need to watch out on the bass frequencies and not set them too high.

Better than the big name brand at a way lower price.
This speaker really impressed me. The bass hits hard and it has Xtra bass also. The ability to charge your phone from it is a big plus. Build quality is A1 and the sound is crystal clear even at max volume. Buy this speaker!! You will not be disappointed!!

Tribit StormBox Lava takeover!
The Tribit StormBox Lava is outstanding! The Sub bass is so low-end, that I tested a couple of different tracks, and it delivers. I immediately upgraded to the newest firmware, and I can't wait to test it again!
