Doctor Who 6794 Thirteenth Sonic Screwdriver Toy, Multi-Colour

This was a Christmas present for our child who is a huge Doctor Who fan. Price on Amazon was excellent and delivery was swift. Our child loved how bright the light was on the Sonic Screwdriver and the detailing of metal like plastic, but really liked the touch sensitivity when holding the screwdriver in a certain position. There is a dummy button on the screwdriver that the maker has added... pointless, but according to my child, it’s a fab Sonic. After viewing the other Sonic Screwdriver available y a different maker, my child much preferred this one. A must for little Doctor Who fans!

The sconic screwdriver, a must for any doctor who wannabe. Expensive for what it is but what’s the alternative? Has a button that when pressed makes the sonic screwdriver sound. My little one loves it and together with the costume was a real head turner on book day.

A really nice version of the best doctors sonic. Perfect for cosplays and just fans in general (bonus points for autistic folk) Mine did have bad corroded batteries but I just bought some Amazon essentials ones and it works just fine

A very good product. My only annoyance is that it doesn’t do wood, or deadbolts. Other than that, it’s a very good screwdriver, and I have managed to defeat several Daleks and Zygon‘s with it. I would add more to this review, but my door is currently being broken down by several angry potato dwarf warriors. If I don’t make it, please ensure the TARDIS door remains locked, and that Jack doesn’t flirt with the Autons in the attic. I have told him before that living plastic is not friendly, but he can’t help himself. *sigh* anyway, wish me luck. Allonsy!

EDIT: Having now seen the first episode of the new series, i have found that the emitter was never supposed to spin, which makes me feel a little better about the product. Having now seen the real prop in action, i must say this replica is quite a good representation. The US version is in fact, technically inaccurate. I don't often give a purchase three stars on Amazon, but on this occasion I felt it was necessary. My sonic screwdriver arrived yesterday, and I must say I wasn't totally disappointed. The design itself I do quite like and character options have done a good job of recreating the likeness. However, I noticed instantly, it is not as well made as the screwdrivers that I have purchased in recent years. The lights inside the screwdriver are quite dim. I have seen the seven20 version of this screwdriver, and it looks a lot brighter. Another element of the seven20 screwdriver that is superior to our UK version, is that the emitter on the character options version, does not rotate. There is a button for this feature, but it does not work. What is the point of a dummy button? It just looks unsightly and serves no purpose. It seems they made the toy cheaper, so that they could keep the price lower for customers... But to be honest, I would have rather paid an extra fiver, for a well made collectable with rotating emitter than pay less for something which isn't as well made as what I've grown accustomed to. All in all I would say, it is my least favourite sonic device, but the collector in me had to get one, nonetheless. I think I would have liked it a lot better, if it had been made to a higher standard. Recommended if your an avid collector, but don't expect the quality of previous years.

Not entirely sure why one has included a dummy button on the top of the device, but the real button on the underside works very well. The fact that the screwdriver senses when you have it in your hand and then automatically lights up in the shaft is an interesting feature. It goes well with the rest of my collection!

Para un niño de 11 fan de la serie. Es el segundo modelo y este al tener menos piezas le ha durado más, además es muy chulo con luz y sonido, y fue muy rápido y barato a 13€, perfecto.

Yes, there is a dummy button. And yes, the top bit doesn't rotate. So what? It just fits into my hands perfectly. The LED is bright and the sound is loud, with three different sounds. Nothing to complain about on that front. And whether you like the design or not, at least this version looks like the one on the telly. As far as I am concerned, everything is great with this sonic. That and now we've finally have the silent mode (with the auto-on function. the sides light up when you hold it) so that I can use it as a torch whenever I need one. Even the 12th doctor's "perfect" sonic doesn't have that feature. I would choose this over the seven20 version any day. Now if they can add the red setting, and upgrade it so that it works on wood, that would be perfect. And thanks for the prompt delivery CAOnline!
